Axel Rudakubana, 18, has been sentenced to a minimum of 52 years in prison for the horrific murders of three young girls during a Taylor Swift-themed dance workshop. Described as "sadistic" and "pure evil" by Liverpool Crown Court, the attack left seven-year-old Elsie Dot Stancombe, six-year-old Bebe King, and nine-year-old Alice da Silva Aguiar dead, while eight other children and two adults were seriously injured.

The court heard that on 29 July, just after 11:45 BST, Rudakubana launched his attack at the sold-out dance event led by Leanne Lucas. The children, who had been joyfully making friendship bracelets and singing along to Swift's music, were suddenly plunged into terror as Rudakubana moved through the room, systematically stabbing young girls. Screams echoed from the Hart Space dance studio, and footage showed children fleeing in panic, some staggering into the street with grave injuries.

The families of the victims sobbed in the public gallery as disturbing footage was shown in court. Among the harrowing scenes was nine-year-old Alice, who managed to escape the building despite her severe injuries but collapsed near a car outside. Inside the studio, six-year-old Bebe had suffered a staggering 122 knife wounds, while seven-year-old Elsie Dot endured 85.

Judge Mr. Justice Goose, addressing Rudakubana during sentencing, said, “Many who have heard the evidence might describe what he did as evil, who could dispute it?” Rudakubana was not present in the courtroom, having been removed earlier for disruptive behavior, including shouting, "I feel ill," and demanding medical attention.  

 

Police officers arrived at the Hart Street studio just before 11:59 BST. Body-camera footage revealed the grim scene, with Rudakubana standing over Bebe King’s body, knife in hand. Officers, alongside a courageous member of the public, window-cleaner Joel Verite, tackled him to the ground. Verite could be heard shouting in shock at the injuries inflicted on Bebe.  

 

Other survivors included a seven-year-old girl, referred to as Child A, who had been pulled back into the building by Rudakubana and stabbed repeatedly before escaping and collapsing in the street. Two others, including Ms. Lucas, managed to hide in a locked toilet until police declared the area safe.  

 

Prosecutor Ms. Heer detailed the calculated and brutal nature of the attack, while Stan Reiz KC, representing Rudakubana, stated that his client had appeared to be a “normal child” until the age of 13. However, Reiz admitted there was no psychiatric evidence to suggest a mental disorder played a role in the crimes.  

 

Beyond the murders and attempted murders, Rudakubana was also convicted of producing the biological toxin ricin and possessing an Al Qaeda training manual, a violation of the Terrorism Act.

His Dad has something to answer for, he must have known he was out to commit a horrific act a week before when he stopped him going to a school. So many failures in this case.

I doubt very much this scum lunatic will see out this sentence. Be lucky to last a year. Apart from this he should have been tried as an adult and sentenced to actual life in prison. The judge's hands were tied and handed out the maximum possible for someone under 18 (by 9 days).

He shouldn't be breathing by the end of the week.  I know the death sentence isn't popular among many but society merits vengeance and notice to others with similar intent we do not coddle perpetrators of such evil.

Yes indeed. But the law is the law. A minimum of 52 years means he's realistically never going to get out of prison so it is effectively life.

52 years multiplied by £52,000 (cost of 1 prisoner per year) = £2.65 million.

Cost of rope to hang him with = £20

 

There is zero doubt about his guilt, he said he was glad those little girls he slaughtered died.  He stabbed a 6 year old 122 times, he tried to decapitate another.   He is a walking, talking advert for why the death penalty should be brought back.

Something I don't really understand is why the different sentences have to run concurrently.   That's another thing that pisses me off about this.  He was given 13 life sentences to run concurrently.   So that is a lie as it is not 13 life sentences it is 1 life sentence unless there are plans to clone him another 12 times so each version of this feral creature has to experience the sentence. I don't see why it cannot be 52 years per life taken to run consecutively so there is not a shred of doubt that he will not be released before he dies by some woke liberal parole board.

That shred of doubt that he could be released when finally up for parole should never be there. It should be without question he will never make it out of prison again. As far as I know its up to the judges discretion whether a sentence runs consecutively or concurrently based on a number of factors.

Western cozy prisons are way too soft places for these kind of criminals. Hard labor is what these people should get. Digging ditches, building roads etc. like in the past. Make this guy work for 12 hours a day seven days a week. If he refuses or cannot work anymore take him to the vet to be put down.
