Maybe called action cameras.   I am looking a purchasing said item.

Most folk  i talk to mention gopro .    I have seen some negative review s    regarding gopro.       I am looking at some of the cheapo  makes such as  Akoso.

I am  looking at something  compact

Any thoughts   good or bad.

there are negative reviews on every product out there.

gopro is not crap, but if it's over your budget find a gopro knockoff.

Insta360 Go is also super compact. And so is Osmo DJ , but they may be over your budget.

people are constantly upgrading their camera gear and they do become outdated rather quickly, so you may want to check out used / refurbished models online to save money ... although shipping costs to thailand might offset savings?

Will primary use be for vlogging, or do you simply want an action camera.  If this is hopes of developing a 'channel' as working income, you'll need decent equipment to stand out from the pack.  Saying that, I know one channel, who does quite well, and only uses an iPhone, but has software & patience to produce quality content.

I have Xiaomi, ThiEeye & Akoso action cams, and work fine.  Though would recommend using with a gimbal.  A good gimbal will cost more than the cams.

Personally I'd get an Insta 360 camera, as amazingly stable footage, with option of not missing anything, due to 360 capability and amazing software suite.  I had one for a short while, damn impressive.

Maybe a channel.    I wonder what some of the big vloggers use.     Noel Philips  aviation  channel is a fav of mine.    He suggests gopro 11         .    I guess a learning curve.       Might try a Akoso

The most important thing is good audio.  If you have good audio but your visuals are not great people won't mind, but if you have amazing visuals with poor sound, they won't watch.

A good wireless mic will cost about 3500 THB

Next most important, if you are filming indoors is sufficient, suitable, lighting.
2 Large softboxes with LED lights is a good starting point, but if you are really on a budget you can probably get away with a single ring light.

You can absolutely use your phone camera to get started.

That DJI Osmo Pocket 3, does appeal to me but in the next post you mention that audio is important, which I underline, but then the question arises is the audio not sufficient from the DJI?

Buy the creator Combo which includes a wireless microphone. Or buy the matching microphone separate.

You can buy LED lighting for low prices at Lazada, I bought one with dimmable light intensity and the option to change color temperature.

There will be times when you will want a dedicated mic.

As @msbkk mentioned you should go for the Creator Pack, which has extra bits.
