Easy pass. On tollways

I find myself using the tollways in Bkk from time to time.    Can someone pls help and tell me where to get an easy pass.   My understanding is that it is a physical card.   So where to buy and where to top up.  Cash is a pain on the tollways
 

also I find myself using route 9. .   Am I right that the mway is only on route 9  ?

You can buy them in any expressway office. They are usually located just near the booths at the side of the road. I think you need ID and your car registration book and you will get given a RFID card that sits on your windscreen. Topping up can be done through your bank app if you have a local bank account.

Did you mean M-Flow? M-Flow is currently only on route 9 and is a different thing to Easy Pass. You can use Easy Pass on route 9 though. But if want to also get M-Flow you register for it online - there is no physical card.  https://mflowthai.com/mflow

I have both Easy Pass and M-Flow but to honest M-Flow is so limited at the moment there's probably no point (only four toll points on route 9 have it I believe).

So yesterday was the first time actually using Toll roads... We have always avoided them accepting the extra travel time. We travel Pattaya - Samut Songkran regularly... 

So we did the [7] then [361] [34] chonburj expressway etc. There was one toll point on [7] we collect that card then onto the [361] a Tollpoint with the 40baht cash. All good we carry on bit at the next tollpoint we again expect to find a cash booth but no there were only  three Easypass and an mpass drive thru... 

Getting worried now as we are in a rental with written rules about to avoid these mpass booths... 

Anyways steaming along to where we are departing the expressway to get to the [35] ... toll both approaching... so this time there IS a cash booth... 

At the booth now and not sure whether we cop some sort of fine from the earlier drivethru of the Easypass booth?... I hold out some cash.  She asks for about 130baht...

These toll routes are weird... but as a minimum at least I now know it is I guess a  170baht each way trip?!?

Impossible a tollpoint without cash boot, as you would not have been able to pass.

That's what I thought !  On the Right the M pass thru. From the Left ALL had Easypass with a bright yellow 'A' lit above... I think this where the Bangkok bound [7] splits up between the shorter route (which we took) and the longer [7] route that swings further north east.

I know on the elevated highway between Chonburi and Bangkok are automatic gates. You just pass through them, no need to take a card, and where you they know where you entered and you pay cash.

I assume there are similar gates on other tollways

I go from  Prachin to BKK a fair bit.

304,365,314 then on the 7 for a short section then onto the Bang Na - Chon Buri Expressway.

10 baht then 55 bahtone way.

 

Would it be any cheaper with a pass card? 

 

I could use the 3001 and bypass the tolls but the 3001 is a horrible road because of the poor road condition.

for someone that says they travel to /from Pattaya regularly, your post is nonsensical.

Secondly you can't drive thru an Easypass booth without an RFID  token, as the gate won't open.

Get your facts right.

i agree, he seems confused

'm pass' and 'easy pass' use the same lanes, so right hand lane for these,

'm flow' is only on the 9 toll road

This was the first time in all those years (as Mrs was in a hurry this time) that I had not habitually kept to all the non toll roads.
Starting fm Pattaya up the 7 then started on the 34… there was some roadworks type diversions (of course in Thai),  and we soon found ourselves on that elevated roads above the 34. Saw mPass on the right and easy pass on the left. All the easy pass had illuminated yellow ‘A’ above them, everything totally unmanned,  no boom arms anywhere. Heading general direction towards BangNa (bang na Chonburi exprswy) the first time we saw any manned booth, where we cash paid some 130 or 140baht. Only concerned as Europcar rental rules said keep out of mPass. That booth didn’t even give a receipt for that cash… I know it was the rama9 we next were on as we could look down to the left upon the Erawan monument… a bit later left rama9 to the left on 35…

When you get the Easy Pass, also register for the m-flow - then you can pay/top up through the one easy pass card from your bank app.

I have not tried in a while, and I might be wrong, but Easy Pass seems to be a lot easier to get than M-Flow. You can just get the Easy Pass at the toll stations office. 

 

I top the EasyPass up with my K-Bank app.

M-Flow is super easy, you just set it up online. Upload photos of your car, your ID, your car registration, set up a payment choice and that's it - M-Flow is active and ready to use.

No need to leave your house or stop at any office.

Only the number 9 ring road so far I believe. It's supposed to eventually go nationwide but I've never seen it anywhere else.

It kept refusing to set up for me, but that's been a couple years, I'll try again, 

 

Does it deduct one toll at a time from your account or can you load it with "stored value" like easy pass?

I set mine up to charge my credit card each time I use it but you can also set up monthly billing so you just get charged at the end of each month.

You can link it to Easy Pass / M Pass so it gets deducted from that account but haven't done that so not sure how simple it is.
