Nope. Pissing off ones allies around the world just makes you look an arse, and will embolden the Chinese to take a mature lead in global trade - everyone needs global trade. Notice how the Chinese have totally ignored the orange kids 10% threats.

They're (CN) are in the game now according to this:

You mean the one that was supposed to cost just under 5bn but as of latest has ballooned to 34bn.

That's the one. But what about if it hadn't been built?

34 bn wouldn't of been spent.

And Canada would be entirely at the mercy of the United States. Granted, that 18 years ago, or whenever this project was first proposed, no sane person would have envisaged such a scenario.

Right. The massive problem of fentanyl coming from Canada:

Fentanyl is also made in Canada and smuggled into the U.S., but to a much lesser extent. U.S. customs agents seized 43 pounds (19.5 kilograms) of fentanyl at the Canadian border during the last fiscal year, compared with 21,100 pounds (9,570 kilograms) at the Mexican border.

https://fortune.com/2025/02/04/how-do-mexico-canada-china-affect-fentanyl-in-u-s-trump-tariffs-trade-war/

I think that amount to .02%. Only a moron would think this is a worthwhile effort. But sometimes it pays to placate a moron.

Or 2,000,000 lethal doses.

And at 0.02% that's 20 dead Americans, yes?

Legacy media would appear to need your support.

CBS apparently would like to settle for their manipulation of the interview with Vice President Harris.

Their main reason for a settlement would be that CBS can give Trump a small win so he can prance around in front of the MAGA droolers claiming a victory.  There is as yet only vague claims by Trump's cronies.  CBS's offer will be a pittance compared to Fox's 787M$ plus more coming down the pike for Smartmatic.  Wanna bet?

What kind of bizarre math are you engaged in?

At any rate, 20 deaths is a blip. You think it's worthwhile to direct so much expenditure on this? There aren't better ways to spend the billions devoted to this threat? How much narcan could that money buy? I bet it would save a lot more lives.

Arithmetic. Ever heard of it?

Narcon ruins a lot more lives than it saves.

Really? Do you mean something different from Narcan? If not, how does it ruin lives?

No, I mean Narcan. The injection they give to ODs over and over and over.

In some communities, 90% of the emergency response budget is administering Narcan.

So, you're upset about the alleged 20 deaths in a year caused by fentanyl imported from Canada, but the fact that Narcan has saved many more lives is a bad thing? Confused much?

You don't care about the 20 lives?

No, I'm not confused. I would just rather spend money trying to stop the drugs, than to facilitate continued use.

If the drug is more expensive, fewer people will use it.

If there were no drug to save them, fewer people would OD.

It's not real complicated to comprehend what tactics the President is doing to enhance the country's border security, it's only complicated for the Trump hating loser liberals and their obsession with seeing America fail under Trump. Pretty certain nobody wants or needs sanctions including 47 but the voters mandated Trump for this and absolutely for border security and an end to the fentanyl crisis. Trudeau needed some nudging and a kick in the teeth perhaps to get his border security plan he announced/promised in Dec 2024 after President Trump won the election BUT NEVER implemented and now has agreed to after the Trump Effect works it's magic as it so often does resulting in a big WIN for President Trump and all Americans and America

So you would rather thousands die if you can save 20? And do you think that given the infinitesimally small quantity imported from Canada, it's actually going to make a difference to supply? And can you share with us some success somewhere that came from the interdiction of transporting drugs? And even if there was such a success, do you understand how little fentanyl it takes to get someone high. And how integrated Canada and Mexico are into the North American economy? What's more, as potent as fentanyl is, there are analogs of fentanyl that are even more potent.

"The emergence of numerous synthetic fentanyl analogs, including acetylfentanyl, butyrylfentanyl, acrylfentanyl, furanylfentanyl and β-hydroxythiofentanyl, which are manufactured in China, were made available to the illicit drug traffickers over the Internet. In July of 2016, the most potent commercially available opioid, carfentanil, started appearing in illicit drug submissions and medical examiner death investigation cases in Northeast Ohio. Postmortem femoral blood carfentanil concentrations are in the picogram per milliliter (pg/mL) range, which is extremely low, and tests the limits of detection for most analytical forensic toxicology laboratories. Oh well, whatever metric you like, Trump, is making progress with the tariff strategy and DOGE, and so much more. The fun is only just beginning....for Trump....and uh....but NOT for Kamala...she got humiliated by "Trumps stupid decision"....the big election win.

Go D.O.G.E. go....
