I got a notification saying that my registered phone number do not match the account holders name and that I should visit a branch or update my name with my mobile provider. The issue is that both my phone number and bank account are under my name. I called AIS to check if there was any mistake with my name, but everything is correct. Then I contacted the call center of Krungsri and they told me not to worry. They sent this message to all app users. If the name matches, there is nothing to do. So I am asking: for those with Krungsri, did you also receive this message in the app even though your number is registered under your name? Thanks! 1

JWNZ Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I got the same message from Krungsri then called AIS who confirmed the same name and Passport details, Krungsri has, then suggested I call Krungsri, their answer, go to AIS and get a certificate confirming the name and number matches, then take that to a branch. Not convinced this is what's required when nothing needs to change and like you, I suspect the same message may have gone to everyone, maybe not all in one day.

KhunBENQ Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago Got nothing from Bangkok Bank or SCB so far. With Kbank I had produced a problem. A friend's account had my phone number. Out of sudden I got a warning msg from AIS(!) that I have to identify within 24h at one of their shops. Otherwise number would be suspended (Thai language only). Went to shop with passport. Staff did the job incl picture taken. Not heard about it again. Friend will close that account.
KhunBENQ Posted 11 hours ago Posted 11 hours ago I am a bit astonished about the Krungsri hotline. I doubt that everyone would routinely get such msg. As I understand they get data from the operators and compare it against the account data. The slightest difference in spelling/middle names etc could trigger the msg.

Both my account and phone have the matching name

Its part of the crackdown on mule accounts and scamming. There was a shirt article within the last few weeks about it coming. I can't remember where I read it
