I'm due a 90 day on Feb 19th and a retirement extension March 5th.

How far in advance can I do the retirement extension I'd like to do both at the same visit.

And in case it's relevant - Korat

And have the forms changed in year ie do I need to re download from last year.

Thanks

Extension can be applied for up to 30 days prior to expiry of current permission of stay.

So yes do the TM47 same visit.

Note: do the application for extension first followed by the TM47

What does a re-entry stamp application require - just the form(and photo or passport copies also)

Note in my first post point out that reentry permit also available at airports on day of departure.

For 200b they take care of TM8 and photo.

Does anyone with an SCB account know how long it takes SCB to provide the 12 month bank statement for Retirement Extension visa? I am aware the bank 'letter' to immigration is done on the spot for 200 THB, but I've never asked for the bank statement before.. (I'm aware there is no branch at IMM1 CW).

Also for the first extension from O visa, at CW IMM1 can I do it more than 30 days from visa expiry? I have an appointment on 28 Feb and the visa expires 1 April. Txs!

My experience at SCB Jomtien Beach Road -- on the spot. Fee is 200 I recall.

Thanks. But are you referring to the 12 month detailed bank statement, or just the one page letter they prepare addressed to Immigration on your behalf? Both?  I've had the letter done on the spot for 200 baht (to apply for the O visa), but the time needed to prepare the12 month statement for the retirement extension seems to vary from bank to bank. This will be first time asking for a 12 month statement and I'd like to know how much time SCB needs for that..

SCB can provide 12 month bank statement on the spot same for "bank letter"

If you are dealing with CW, I suggest you obtain these items day or two prior to day of application.

Making a small deposit on the day of application good idea as updates and shows activity.

Statement 200b

Letter (should be) 100b

Hmmm.... My immigration office always resets my 90 day visit automatically together with the visit for new extension. Office, Yasothon

I spoke with "information" in Korat on Friday and was told they will renew up to 45 days before expiry

By the way anyone know if blue Ink is a requiremet still?

Better safe than sorry.  Using it to start with is better than having to re-fill out all of your forms or have to re-print all of your copies and sign with blue ink instead of black.  Some offices don't seem to mind while others are very strict on it.  But you'll never go wrong using it from the start.

Not sure why folk ask.

Some offices allow fillable forms.

Some want forms filled in by hand

etc etc.

Just use a blue pen and fill in (by hand) the TM7.

Can one get a single reentry permit at the same time as the one year extension?...

Will that reentry permit be valid for use at anytime of the one year extension?

Yes.

Most folks obtain reentry permit at same visit to immigration for extension.

1000b single....3800b multiple.

The reentry permit has expiry same as the extension.

Personally I prefer to obtain permit at the airport.

Can you get that immediately after the extension at CW? Or do you need to get a new and different queue number?

You need new queue #.

Currently appointments for extension retirement are few and far between.

I also deal with CW and never bother with going to reentry permit desk after extension.

Some folk do....I obtain at airport

Right. I'm one of the few that got an appointment for the extension, but it's mid afternoon on a Friday. Chances of getting the multiple re-entry after that's finished is doubtful. Didn't you say earlier that the re-entry booth at the airport (swampy) was airside, after security? If so, CW would be the only way to get the re-entry visa without actually flying out of the country, is that right too?

Doesn't matter if you obtain reentry permit at BKK or DMK.

The permit is obtained on day of departure.

Meaning you are exiting Thailand.

At BKK the reentry permit desk is PRIOR to immigration (passport control) Zone 2 to the left of immigration lines.

I posted pic earlier

At DMK the reentry permit desk is JUST PAST immigration control.

You can see the office from passport control.

Both airports offer a 200b service fee to fill in application+ photo.

Same here. Re-entry permit queue at CW always seems in the 100's. I guess it is foreign workers of neighbouring countries that need that, as AFAIK, re-entry permit cannot be obtained at a land border. I have done last 4 years of re-entry permits at BKK and it takes about 5 minutes so long as you already have the form filled and picture attached. Maybe 15 minutes if you get their desk to do it.

Sorta correct. There are a few border crossing with immigration offices that could issue a reentry permit.

Suggest folk don't rely on that and better to obtain permit at their local immigration office.

Here is cut and paste from @BritTim

"Usually, you can only get a re-entry permit at the immigration office that issued your most recent extension, or at the airport on the day of departure. A few immigration offices located close to selected land crossings will issue you re-entry permits on the basis that you are on your way to cross over, leaving Thailand. If planning to leave by land, indicate the crossing you want to use and someone may be able to suggest where you can get a re-entry permit."

After security screening you go down escalator.

It's Zone 2 to the left side of immigration lines (passport control)

If you make online appointment, expect to be called ~30 minutes before scheduled time.

You must get a new TM-30 receipt before having your documents checked.

IO will give you a new 90-day receipt when you do your extension.

Everything done in one go:  extension/re-entry/90-day.

Small shop across the street has copier and will make passport photos.

Bangkok Bank a couple KM north of immigration, just north of HomePro, will prepare bank letters in ~10 minutes.  Parking inside the compound beneath the building.
