I'm experiencing memory issues / cognitive impairment for several years.

Many doctors on youtube are recommending the ketogenic diet which comprises of cutting down on carbs and UPF ultral processed foods. No more bread, rice, potatoes. Sugar is not permitted.

Eating fatty meat and seafood is recommended. Healthy fats eg avocados, nuts, oils. If I do this the liver produces ketones apparently. How will I know that I have succeeded.

It seems the idea is to eat nutrient dense, low carb, foods. The lower carbs helps to stabilize the blood sugar.

I used chatgbt for keto receipes and think that Im going to lose weight.

If you have any suggestions or useful websites it would be appreciated.

thanks

So the internet nonsense is working. Another one who believes (fake) doctors. Mate, look for proven science.

Nobody needs that diet unless you're the promoter earning money with questionable advices.

I do Keto Intermittent Fasting. Just eat dinner. Trying to do a more intense fast so eating less.

Trying to avoid triggering insulin and increasing insulin resistance. Do take a day or two off when my wife is not working. Had frozen pizza the other day.

Chicken thighs, sardines, grass fed butter, leafy veggies, green beans. Keep under 20 carbs per day. 1/4 cup of walnuts. Extra virgin olive oil. A small steak. Eggs. Mixed nuts.

Adkins low carb is similar and I refer to their food list mostly: https://au.atkins.com/why-atkins/the-phases/

Trying to walk briskly for a period in the mornings, weather permitting.

Anybody else notice that there seems to be a high correlation between being a Keto-fan and being a MAGA fan?

Please watch this long video to the end and tell me if you still agree or disagree:

There are hundreds of videos on the keto diet improving memory / brain issues. The body burns fats rather than sugars.

If you still have your head in the sand go and eat all your cakes, potatotoes, bread and fake carbs. Up to you

Dear mate, not necessary to write those offending lines.

Sure, you probably forgot my professional background.

But that's not so important for this case.

Just think about that any "diet" will change the balance of your body's physiology. Do you need that? And the effect to remember 11 instead of 10 digits (joke) ....is it worth?

There are indeed uncountable videos promoting any kind of diet and nutrition, but hardly any against by professional doctors.

Why that? Because they don't need to sell their science in order to earn their living and get "likes" on YouTube or TikTok.

Btw, potatoes are not as bad as you think.

Good day.

No further conversation required.

I am eating Keto and have been for 15 years.

Started back home and here for the past 8 years.

It is the best diet I have ever eaten and am in superb health at 75.

Key is to get rid of all starchy foods and eat fats instead. They are concentrated so only one meal a day is needed.

Proteins are cooked and must be free range. I am eating duck, duck eggs, chicken, chicken eggs, pork from local farms, fish from the sea and local rivers & lakes. Also NZ cheddar, home-made yogurt from local raw milk. Avoid all commercial pork & chicken.

Fats are NZ butter, sunflower oil, soya bean oil, palm oil, raw egg yolks. Bitter teas are drunk in the morning (black, oolong, jasmine), later in the day fruit juice, chocolate, coffee with added coconut milk and nut milks.

I eat about 75g fat daily and 100g sugar from 1kg fresh fruits. Massage oil is palm oil.

Please ask me if you need assistance.
