You cannot legally access someone else's tax return using their driver license. There are strict privacy laws enforced by IRS. Driver license or additional personal information will not gain you access without authorization.

Elementary but seem to evade your common sense.

So, given there "...are strict privacy laws enforced by IRS.." about accessing someone else's tax return, why are you up in arms about DOGE having access? Will they not be prosecuted for stealing personal data?

IRS agents have access to tax returns, and there is no reason they could not steal the data and sell it.

Glad I just renewed my US passport, and don't rely on social security or anything else from the US government.  Guessing much of the US government will just stop functioning soon.

You can only hope

Yes soon the money send outside the US to retirees in another country (Thailand) may stop also.

Why would anyone hope for that?  It makes no sense at all.

Midterms

Elections?  Oh boy.  Not many people are hoping for a disaster, so the next election will swing to their preferred party.  I've never even voted and don't affiliate with any party.

I think you would be surprised how many people are hoping for Trump's Presidency to be a disaster, and doing all they can to make it so, just like last time.

Good lord, DOGe has not been given authorisation to access the data. They can commit a criminal act by stealing or forcing their way.

Well, I am against tax evasion, so I am hoping DODE gets access.

As always, the left wants to punish law abiding citizens, in this case with higher taxes, while refusing to enforce existing law.

IRS agents can leak the data for whatever reasons and that would be a criminal act. In Jan, Charles Littlejob was sentenced to 5 years for exactly such an act.

And anyone in DOGE doing the same should be prosecuted to the full extent of the law.

You are confusing people expecting it to be a disaster with hoping for it.  I'm expecting it to be a disaster like his first term, but hoping I'm wrong.

I am not confused. Sure, most people are not hoping for a disaster, but many are, and are working to that end.

For example, the people voted to close the border and deport illegal aliens, and right now, the left is actively working to stop the Administration from being successful.

During Trump's last term, the people voted to build the wall. and the left is actively worked to stop the Administration from building the wall, and then blamed Trump for not getting it done.

I am with you on this one. Tax evasion by millionaires and billionaires tops $150 billion a year according to the IRS head. I am sure Elon on top of this.

Millionaires and maybe a few billionaires, sure.  But if you think Musk's companies, or Apple, or Amazon or any large public company is evading taxes you are delusional. Tax avoidance? Absolutely. Tax evasion? No.

Too much downside for not enough up.

DOGE may be able to use AI to catch cheaters and get Congress to eliminate social engineering tax avoidance schemes.

We are all still waiting for Mexico to pay for it!

That was one of the original lies.

The stay in Mexico policy paid for the 500 miles of wall that got built.

Fun fact for you. Tesla paid ZERO federal income tax in 2024 despite earning $2.3 billion.

See what I mean? @jvs thinks it's funny. Americans wanted the wall, the left stopped it and blamed Trump for not building it.

Trump said he would build the wall, and Mexico would pay for it. He managed to build over 500 miles of wall, and his "remain in Mexico" policy and others, saved enough money to cover the cost of the wall.

But because President Obrador was not on CNN handing a giant check to Trump, they claim Trump was lying.

Just like he says he's going to work to bring down prices on day one, when prices do not plummet on his first day of office, they call him a liar.

Leftists (not liberals, and not everyone on the left) are hate-filled liars that will do anything and destroy anyone for power.

I assume you mean in 2024 for 2023, yes? If so, that is public information, yes? Do you not think they were audited?

Do you think they Tesla evaded taxes under the Biden administration?

Again, I think you are conflating tax avoidance with tax evasion. It's like using rape and consensual sex interchangeably.

I am all for prosecuting all tax evaders to the full extent of the law. and for eliminating tax avoidance schemes that are generally put in place to engineer behavior.

You see what I mean? We're trying to have a serious discussion and @jvs thinks it's a big joke.

A woman threatened to go to the press and claim she had sex with Trump.

On the advice of his attorney, Trump entered in a legal nondisclosure agreement (NDA) with the women, paying her to not go to the press.

The attorney arranged the NDA with the woman and paid her off with his own funds.

Trump reimbursed the attorney out of his personal and listed the payments as legal expenses.

Even if you argue that it's not a legal expense, and that it was recorded falsely, it would only be a misdemeanor, and the statute of limitation had run out on it.

The left turned that in 34 felony charges and found him guilty.

Tax avoidance Iis finding loopholes to avoid paying tax and can be challenged in court as an illegal act like evasion which is downright illegal. Its like consensual sex can be overturned as rape in the court
