I have contacted several car dealers using their LINE ID and it mostly goes like this. I send a screenshot of the car and ask if it is still for sale. The message is read and an a reply is quickly sent. I ask a follow up question like, "Has this can ever had an accident?" or " Do you have the service book?".  The message is read but no reply is given. How do they expect to sell a car with this level of poor service?

I'm guessing a lot of them (selling cars) have 'borrowed' adds from other sites and are trying to make money as 'middle men'....  and thus are unable to answer the questions.

When I have tried to sell my car in the past (on FB market place) I've seen my car pop up as an Add elsewhere....  bunch of charlatans and its exactly the same with houses.

Meanwhile, when selling my own car (on FB market place), I get questions that have already been answered in the advert (i.e. mileage, is it still available, where is the car)..

Its a pain - but when it comes to buying or selling something online, it seems the other party is commonly extremely lazy and just can't be bothered.

All questions I ask are pertinent to the sale and not found in the initial advert.

I think that they only want to talk on the phone as there will be no permanent records of the conversation. I quick search of the Thai chatrooms confirms this, but this is a poor business model.

My wife was talking to one guy and when she asked to see the car registration book he immediately replied "It is sold".

Another guy was trying to sell me his car even though the car registration showed it was still owned by the finace company. He said not to worry and he needed a 6,500 deposit to hold the car.

They sell it preferably to Thais who enter the shop and ask questions personally.🤣

Salespeople want to sell. And the way to sell is to have the potential buyer right in front of them and sell something to them.

That is definitely part of the reason why salespeople do what they do.
