Israeli Embassy issues guidelines in response to incidents in northern tourist town

Residents of Pai in recent weeks have reported a string of incidents involving Israeli nationals.

The Israeli Embassy has instructed Israelis to behave 

Move follows recent incidents in the northern Mae Hong Son province

The Embassy of Israel in Thailand has urged Israeli citizens in Thailand to respect local laws and customs to maintain good relations with Thai communities. 

The embassy issued the statement following several incidents involving Israeli tourists in recent weeks. These incidents led to Thai authorities imposing stricter measures, particularly in Pai district in the far Northeast Mae Hong Son province. 

The embassy expressed concern that these events had negatively impacted the image of Israeli tourists and may affect the warm treatment that Israelis typically receive in Thailand.

The embassy issued guidelines for its nationals:

– Avoid shouting or speaking loudly in public spaces like streets, hotels and public areas.
– Respect personal and public spaces and avoid disturbing residents or other travellers.
– Refrain from smoking in public areas.
– Follow traffic laws and parking regulations; violating these could lead to significant fines.
– Ensure not to overstay the allowed visa period.
– Do not work in Thailand without proper authorisation, as this is a serious offence that could result in arrest and deportation.
– Dress appropriately and avoid walking in public places without a shirt.
– Treat local people with respect, speaking politely and with a smile, even during market negotiations.

In the last few days , British and German men have been arrested for sexually abusing children in Thailand .

  An  Australian has been arrested for robbing locals in Thailand 

Indians have been arrested for fighting with bargirls in Thailand 

Probably more to come tomorrow as well

Prime Minister Paetongtarn Shinawatra on Tuesday dismissed reports that many Israelis who settled in Pai had posted signs to ban Thais from entering their properties.

Another more conspiracy-minded post said some Israelis viewed Pai as a new “promised land” and that more than 30,000 had moved to the district.

“Hold on a moment,” Ms Paetongtarn said. “We’ve already verified that this is not true.”

 

So  nothing more than another Israeli bashing topic linked to the milked to death Pai handful of incidents.

sure, one off incidents happen all the time, it's the repetitive nature of similar incidents that have prompted the israeli embassy to respond to, and try to improve, the behavior their citizens

I haven’t seen any signs in Thailand saying no Brits, Germans or Aussies. 

I think denying there is a problem is the reason there is a problem. Some people just can not be told.

The PM dismissed that the Israelis were putting up “No Thais” signs, not that Thais were not putting up “No Israeli” signs.

How does this provide any context?  Other foreign people do bad things in Thailand, so Israelis can behave however they want?

I am not sure where you got the 20 years old from?
But I will take your word for it.

I knew that these signs were common in the southern islands but didn’t realise that this had also been going in Pai for at least 20 years. It doesn’t seem to deter them, 30,000 showed up there last year.

This is the SECOND TIME in memory, that the Israeli government has had to put out an advisory, reminding it's people to behave properly whilst abroad. This is not done due to a few isolated incidents. Most aren't reported until it reaches a critical mass.

The deflections of the same few posters are noted here every day.

I've already quoted from that link, it only mentions the same one, the hospital incident. There's not been another hospital incident has there? Like I said before a handful of reported incidents is all there has been there.
