Actually he's an ethnic Russian, but hey, let's keep up the rhetoric 'eh? For the benefit of those who don't have a clue as to the ethnic breakdown of Russians in a Russia which spans 11 time zones and includes 190 ethnic groups including Asians - you know, those folks who look like North Koreans  👆 🎯
Color me surprised considering the Russia shares a border with the DPRK.

You don't end a war by telling your adversary all the talking points of the negotiations before the meeting.

You don't end a war by excluding one of the two parties of the war.

With the way that Trump has been conducting himself lately, the end of the war will only happen by Trump helping to get a complete capitulation from Ukraine. That is the opposite of a successful negotiation. And it will likely be just one more, in a vast and long series of Trump failures. And it will embolden the genocidal Russian maniac to no end.

Do you remember back last year when Russia wasn't invited to the talks? so yes, how do you end a war by excluding 1 side!!

To put it politely and respect my elders you were naïve to think it would go any other way, but you only listen to you usual mainstream media, so it understandable. At least with Trump and his orangeness its over with lots of lives saved, would have been different iif  Democrat Harris, nuland, Cheny war team had won. I dread to think how we3 wpild have looked... guess we wouldn't have to worry about climate change and carbon footprints though aye!!

Exclude the side winning?  Problematic.
Exclude the side losing?  No big deal.

Russia is a nation of troublemakers and thugs and has been for 300 years and the Ukraine is a cobbled together dictatorship that is nothing more than Russians with accents.

Zelensky refusing elections

Evidently you only have access to Russian propaganda, or the ramblings released to the press by that imbecile who now sits in the White House.

It is the Ukrainian constitution itself that establishes that, as long as martial law is lawfully in place, there will be no elections. And the constitution of Ukraine was approved long before Zelensky entered politics (the current Constitution of Ukraine was drafted and approved in 1996, when Zelensky was only 18 years old and was still a simple high school student).

There is nothing unusual or exceptional in Ukraine's constitutional diktat. Several constitutions in Western countries do not allow elections to be held in times of war, states of emergency or martial law. During the First World War both the United Kingdom and Canada extended their parliamentary mandates (effectively delaying elections), while New Zealand postponed elections during the Second World War. Parliamentary elections in Israel have also been postponed due to conflict, for example during the Yom Kippur War in 1973. More recently, in 2023, local elections were postponed following the October 7 attacks.

There are also a number of practical obstacles to holding elections in Ukraine right now: around a fifth of the country is currently occupied by Russia, millions of Ukrainians are displaced or serving on the front lines, and there are various security concerns.

Russia has widely used the claim that Zelensky is illegitimate in its propaganda to discredit the Ukrainian government, based on the premise that Zelensky's first term was originally supposed to end on May 20, 2024.

Expecting Zelensky to hold elections while the country is at war and under martial law, even though Ukraine's own constitution forbids it, is only evidence of Putin's contempt for the rule of law and of the abysmal ignorance of those who repeat and amplify his baseless claim.

This is all rubbish. You disparage the US president, but take the money none the same.

The countries you rattle off are undemocratic and I include New Zealand in that and especially scoffing at Israel.

In the United States, elections have consistently been held even during major conflicts like the Civil War (1861–1865) and World War II (1939–1945). For instance, Abraham Lincoln faced re-election in 1864 amid the Civil War, and Franklin D. Roosevelt was re-elected in 1944 during World War II. These examples show a commitment to maintaining democratic processes despite wartime challenges.

I'm going to figure out how to use ignore because this is just pure disingenuous propaganda .

Like I said before it really doesn't matter because ITS OVER. Putin and Trump will resolve the entire thing shortly. Save your tears and sad clown face for then.

Imagine a few good men, maybe with children have died since you started this propaganda baiting thread. It's over and I laugh in your face at your bullheaded ignorance to accept reality - but it gonna slap you hard Ukraine bro

Name calling. You're an adult right?

The two nations are kindred souls as close or closer than Thai Lao, UK and US. The history, culture, religion, script absolutely everything are intertwined. That's why Putin was always reserved in his actions. He could have ended it any day by bombing Kiev. Russians take no pride in this win to be sure. It's a dirty proxy war.

You're all fools. Russia will take Crimea and the Russian territories in S Ukraine. I can't wait till it happens to laugh in all your clown faces.

I think that is extremely bigoted. No, I do not. Nor do I believe they instagated the war. It was all Obama /Biden / Nuland et al.

What American and South Vietnamese soldiers called the «long walk,» the «flying lesson» or the «flying interrogation» was a form of execution feared by prisoners, as shown by various archival records. For Sachs, it meant: Do not count prisoners when they are loaded onto the helicopter, but only when they are unloaded – so that only those who survive the transport are included in the prisoner statistics.

Two posts calling me out as noob. I've lived in East Asia nearly 35 years and unlike most of you NOT living in Thailand or ASEAN. I'm not new to this forum just don't much care about saving passwords. Actually, I could be considered a founding member of both Thai Visa and Thorntree.

I bet that most of these posters on this thread don't even live in Thailand. Why don't you go to Blue sky or Grinder or wherever your types exist online.

This forum now more than ever needs people with knowledge and experience in Thailand. The institutional knowledge of this forum is all but lost.

Historically true.

No it's not. My guess is you've never been to Russia nor have known any Russians. It's just bigotry. They're solid people that deserve a chance as much as any Eastern European country. Russia was digging itself out of the bog and then the neocons put the war on them which they've wanted for decades.

Do they behave poorly in Thailand? Perhaps but we can go thru all sorts of stereotypes so let's not get started

I understand European historical paranoia but that is only that.

You had posted some copy paste rubbish (in big bold type bc you've no clue how to use technology) about Vietnam. I commented about how that war based upon a lie was started. You really are a very simple fellow.
