Help needed moving from Phuket to Hua Hin

My partner and I are moving to Hua Hin in August and are having trouble finding a company that will move our stuff.

 

We probably have the equivalent of about 8-10 large suitcases consisting of personal items, clothing, household goods, etc. We don't have any furniture or really large items, so we don't meet the minimum volume requirements of any of the moving companies we've approached. All of our stuff would easily fit in something like a Toyota van or in the back of a pick-up truck. 

 

Does anyone know of a company that would transport this amount at a reasonable price? We're also happy to hire a private truck or van with a driver, but again, have not had any luck in finding someone. 

 

Any advice or recommendations for companies or individual drivers who could help us would be much appreciated.

Suggest you talk to Thai Post. They can basically move anything: 1 suitcase / whole house of furniture and effect.

 

Perhaps better to approach a bigger PO. 

 

There's been many previous reports here on AN sharing complete satisfaction with their service. 

 

They will come and and discuss your needs and give a reasonable quotation, If required they will do the packing and they are careful to ensure little damage

 

They are good communicators / service oriented / coordination oriented.

 

They also move cars and motor cycles. A year back they moved a scooter from Pattaya to Chiang Mai 200Baht.

 

Worth checking.

Great thanks for the info. Will contact them and see what they say. We also do have a motorcycle but it's a larger bike (900 cc). Not sure if they transport larger bikes like that but will ask them. Thanks for the prompt reply. Much appreciated.

Thai Post is very good at something like this. And it  probably be considerably less expensive than hiring somebody with a pickup truck. That would likely be your alternative but I would imagine that would cost a minimum of 10 to 15,000 baht.

 They do move 'big bikes', they took my Thai sons big Honda bike from Chiang Mai to just outside of Pattaya.

 

They quickly came to our house in CM, quotation and contract agreed, later same day came and wrapped the bike and took it away. About 36 hrs later son got a call asking when they could deliver the bike to him at the destination and checking the full address, landmarks etc. From memory 300Baht. Son was very impressed with their service. 

 

They also move cars.

Not sure where the Thai Rail system is in relationship to Phuket, but you could send your stuff to Hua Hin if you can find a rail terminal in your location.  Other option.  Hire a van and a driver in Phuket.

With 25,000 posts I would think you would know there is no train to Phuket. Closest would be Surat Thani, on the other side of Thailand.

+1 for Thai Post, we've sent all sorts of stuff, including motorbikes, between Hat Yai and family in Prachuap.
