Why does anyone get tattooed?  They look awful.

Hey, even Sean Connery had 2 tattoos!

One said "Scotland Forever" and the second didn't.

Lord Buddha would be completely disgusted with what constitutes Thai Buddhism, this is the least of the offenses.

Have you ever met anybody who looks better with a tattoo than without? I doubt it.

99% are ugly. This one looks cool. If everybody was the same what a boring world.

Many of the Thai Temples I have visited have posted THE BUDDHA IS NOT FOR TATTOO OR DECORATION.

To each their own I guess. But for me personally I would not get a tattoo of Buddha out of respect for the culture.

Not much of a story IMO. Just some crazy Buddhists complaining. Fairly sure an almost absolute majority of Thais wouldn't care less about this.

Emily Srichala, a British social media influencer married to a Thai tattoo artist, has recently caused a stir in Thailand over a tattoo depicting the image of Lord Buddha on her arm. Srichala, who is actively studying Buddhist practices, recently received a message claiming she broke Thai laws by having the tattoo and sharing it online, leading to a storm of discussion among Thai netizens.

In response to the message, which accused her of cultural disrespect, Emily posted a video on Facebook and TikTok asking for opinions from Thai citizens. She explained that the tattoo, crafted by her husband, is a piece of art on her upper arm—not on the lower body, where Buddhist images are traditionally discouraged.

The issue has divided opinions in Thailand. Some Thais see the tattoo as an expression of art and individuality, while others view it as disrespectful to the Buddhist culture. Critics argue that the tattoo's location on the body does not align with cultural norms, whereas supporters insist intention and respect matter more than placement.

In the wake of the debate, lawyer Kerdphol Kaewkerd confirmed that Srichala's tattoo is legally permissible in Thailand, clarifying that she broke no laws despite the backlash. The ongoing conversation highlights the cultural sensitivity regarding religious symbols and the varying interpretations of respectfulness in a globalised world, reported The Thaiger.

IMHO this is just a publicity stunt and just imagine the amount of interest this ridiculous report has sparked for this narcissist.  Why is this even newsworthy?

It's not a very good tattoo but she's not super attractive so it does make her look a little sluttier. She's a three beerer.

Please note that just because I'm shallow does not mean in any fashion that I failed to recognize my own inherent repulsiveness. My comments on her looks are kind of silly considering I'm so disgusting I wouldn't even sleep with myself but it's the internet so I'm entitled. I bet you she has a tramp stamp that says insert here

Pretty sure nobody commented on it to her saying it was disrespectful and she basically made it up for tik tok views and likes.

I have a Buddha tattoo on my forearm and it's clearly visible to everyone. Not one person has said it was disrespectful , infact quite the opposite.

Precisely my line of thoughts , a publicity stunt to gain her Sik Tok account interest and no doubt it has done that and more.

She's too young for tattos, when she'll turn 50 shell regret her mistake.

Best tattoo i ever saw was on Oliver Reeds bell-end.

Used to drink with Ollie in Guernsey in 87.He would usually oblige if you asked him to get his cock out.
