Polo shirts? Zero Indians in Khon Kaen or Udon markets. Great. All Thai vendors, some Lao.

Strangely I had a work colleague ask me "George when you go to Thailand will you be buying a whole bunch of clothes ?

The answer was NO !

Absolutely not !

I was planning to go to the Night Bazzaar in Pattaya and buy my favourite pocketed CAMEL shirts for 400 baht and polo shirts and t shirts but.... seems cheaper in Australia

The prices seem to be far far more expensive in Thailand than Kmart in Australia who have T shirts this month and Polo shirts at less than 100 baht equivalent price !! $5

So why would I even buy clothes in Thailand anymore ?

What's cheaper now ,you tell me ,you tell me ,ok tobacco yes your right and thanks for telling me ,but I don't smoke so don't bother !

I wont  appreciate it

I can't see anything worth buying to bring back to Australia that's cheaper than Kmart in Australia

Shoes? iPhones ? Coffee ?

Well coffee is not cheap, please !

Cans of tuna more expensive , peanut butter ,even Lynx  spray deodorant in Australia 80 baht

Well what is cheaper in Thailand, what is worth buying and bringing back ?

Nothing ,that's what ,nothing

Shokubutsu brand orange peel scented shower cream. But it is only useful if you take showers.

Otherwise, red wild rice, deep fried durian chips, packaged noodles, dried squid, dried mango, and other dried packaged food products. Stick to commercial brands with well sealed (vacuum sealed if possible), commercial packaging and you shouldn't have any problem with the customs dept in Australia with any of these items.

They are cheap copies anyway. Not real Camel brand. And if you go to a tourist place like Night Bazar then you'll pay 3 to 4 times the local price. Look on Lazada.

If you buy the small ones, then you might even get a wink back.

Absolutely

I was even forced to eat a cake at the border control desk ,a nice beutifying CHEESE cake I brought back and bluntly refused to hand over !

They threatened to call the Australian Federal police I said I will wait.

He said Eat the cake then ,and then I was forced to eat a creamy beautiful cheese cake in front of several border force police .

Are you a slow learner the whole world has that law even in the US and Canada borders New Zealand, Britain and most countries

Canada must have moved then. It used to be next to the USA. Trump must have told them to leave.

Yes Lazada and TEMU look cheaper than the shops ,

I wonder if ALI Express are still around?

But of course the downside to buying online is the wait for them to arrive

But yes looks like online is cheaper than the markets and shops at Tuk com

Levis Dockers and songkran shirts (my favorite shirts) are 150 baht in Bangkok (if you can even find the songkran shirts back home).  I don't know if the Dockers are used, fake or factory rejects, but they look fine to me.  I've bought a bunch of them.  2 pairs are cheaper than a Mickey-D's burger at the airport.
