Quick question- in multi-party countries, is it common for the party with the most votes/seats (but not an outright majority) to be denied the first chance to form a government? I haven't heard of it happening before, but I may be wrong.  

 

Seems to me that bureaucratic Euro-lefties are afraid of their own people. I checked about the FPO in Austria, but couldn'T find anything terribly radical or dangerous in their policies. Just standard right of centre populism.

That depends on what one means to people. To drop some Trump supporters here it clearly means that Trump won a majority. Just today I had an exchange with one ardent Trump supporter who claimed that everyone was happy with what Trump was planning.

You borrowed TransAm's crystal ball? Whether there would be a different campaign if the rules were changed is completely irrelevant.

 

The FACT remains that in 2016, Trump won the Presidency having polled fewer votes than Clinton. Any system that placed him in the White House under those circumstances is flawed and undemocratic.

The theory of National Interest predates the National Socialist philosophy of racial collectivism. Your knowledge of National Socialist is a bit garbled. The Beer Hall Putsch was put down by the Bavarian military in 1922. Hitler assumed power after the National Socialists won an election in 1933. There was no riot at the Reichstag.
