Pull the Ford plant out of Oakville Ontario and watch them all flop around like a pike on a Johnson's silver minnow.

Yo Dougie your bro was a Druggie and you guys will do what we want when we want like you always have. You scream and cry like little toddlers but at the end of the day, we say jump and you say how high.

As usual, you're missing the point. Being anti-Trump is that an effective electoral stance in Canada.

And of course you're missing the larger implications. In a parallel topic posted recently, lots of right wingers denied that Trump's hostility to Canada I've had any effect on the political fortunes of the Liberals in Canada.

What makes Yagoda's hubris particularly foolish is the spparent  belief on his part that a trade war with Canada won't also hurt the US economy. Most Americans don't share Trump's ridiculous hostility towards Canada. And I doubt they're going to want to see their standard of living lowered for the sake of it.

I'm not missing anything. Stop assuming you know.

Given that your original comment was completely irrelevant to the significance of his victory,, it's clear that you missed the point

Irrelevant in your mind. Are you in Canada or Canadian?

No. Irrelevant because the issue is how Trump has boosted the electoral fortunes in Canada of those who strongly oppose him and his threats. Or do you believe it would be relevant in the case of Trump's electoral victory to call him a clown? I don't. He may be one, but it's not relevant.

It sure is. Recent moves by Ford have have also contributed to effects the conservative  party are experiencing  in Canada on a federal level.

He's been a clown for decades. Which is completely relevant.

As you know Canada doesn't elect like the US does. The major cities in Canada swing elections nationally. Hence the shift liberal lately. Outside of those cities canada is very much a conservative place. That's why Ford has managed to win the biggest province 3 times during a long term liberal federal government.

My province just re elected Ford but what no one is mentioning is the liberals gained back official party status.  They got a 30 percent jump in votes. Even though the liberal party leader lost her own riding.

I see you have no answer for my pointing out that Ford being a clown is irrelevant to the significance of his victory anymore than it would be to point out that Donald Trump is a clown as being relevant to his victory. In fact, if your characterization of Ford is correct, that would only make his victory based on his opposition to Trump even more significant. In other words, despite the possibility that Ford may be a clown, he won a huge victory.

I laid it all out for.you. I can't be bothered getting into the finer points that you miss.

You may have laid some of it out, but you offered no refutation. Your previous post was interesting but not relevant. At least not in the way you framed it. As I pointed out, if Ford is a clown, that makes his victory based on his strident oppostion to Trump, all the more impressive.

It's hard to explain how Canadians think. Not too bright most of the time. Ford is doing what Ford does. Protecting his own interest. Much the same as Trump is trying to do. Hence the strident opposition as you put it.

Rob was a legend. A lot more funny than your president with his harmonica hands.

Funny how with the threat of tariffs Canadian dollar started going up for a change. I say put 100% tariffs on Canada.

Whatever Ford's motives may be, the fact is that strident oppostion to Trump's plans for Canada is a winning issue. And the fact that the Liberals also stridently oppose Trump most likely figured in their recovery, too.  What amazes me is that despite Trump's attacks on Canada's economy, and even on its legitimacy, there's a host of right wingers who deny that it's having a very significant effect on the Canadian electorate.

Those winning issue plans you are talking about have hurt the electorate in some ways. But as I said they really don't even get it.

How do you know what most Americans do or don't do, you're not one. Most Americans don't share hostility to Canada.? Maybe nobody has hostility to Canada maybe we're just smart enough to realize that it's a  undefendable piece of land as it stands right now so we have to come defend it. Maybe we should send them a bill for jet fuel ffs.

The depths of your hatred for America is as deep as your lack of knowledge about things that go on there.

Or maybe the point that rough diamond was making is that it's Russia that traditionally has posed a threat to Canada.

Or that maybe now the threat comes from a nation south of its border. From a loon who is currently the chief executive of that nation and is talking of annexing Canada.

Thanks.

I was totally(un)impressed by the "geo-political" non answer.

Are you saying that the violent murderous dictatorship of Putin nor the Chinese Communist expansionist dictatorship are not threats to Canada.?
