Where is the truth? You must be clueless about Lend Lease. Nuff said.

I sat an examination on US-UK relations in WW2 in my finals at Cambridge University.

i don't know what point you are making so I will make it for you.The Lend Lease example is in fact interesting and it demonstrates that the wartime relationship between FDR and WSC was often far from chummy. The US squeezed the UK with outrageous terms for financial/military support before Pearl Harbor.Loans were still being paid off by the UK until very recently.WSC and FDR were both aristocrats and men of enormous charisma/stature unlike Trump/Vance, but perhaps there was more in common with the Ukraine situation than people like me like to think. The US and probably all great powers are driven by self interest not sentiment. As Charles de Gaulle pointed out, The State is a cold monster, ie only acts in its own interests. Finally FDR and the US were not keen on imperialism (unless it was their own) and resented American blood/treasure being spent to save the British Empire.

Churchill insulting Roosevelt on at least two occasions by wearing a military uniform.

Exactly. Zelensky received a formal invite. He recounted the journey took 12 hours by train across Ukraine, followed by an 11 hour flight.

The furore over a deal worth half a trillion dollars to the United States was not because he wore a Fruit of the Loom sweatshirt. Many commentator on this forum remark that the United States is effectively bankrupt, when speaking in support of the current American President's policies.

BS if he travelled 12hours by train, so the Ukrainian President doesn't have acess to helicopters or planes while surrounded by military ...how gullible are you.

I love the fact that he did not wear a suit to the Oval Office. I think Trump and Vance deserve more disrespect, and frankly I don't think he was interested in doing that mineral deal, as it was a terrible deal for Ukraine. Though I think Trump and Vance intended to set up Zelensky, I think in reality it was the other way around Zelensky set them up, baited them, and they fell for it hook line and sinker, and made themselves look like petty fools and bullies around the world. Which is what they are.

Hopefully he can garner enough support in Europe and elsewhere, so he just doesn't need the US anymore, as they have become a less reliable ally, and their influence throughout the world is declining by the day.

The other aspect of this equation that no Republican seems to want to discuss is that Musk dresses like a bit of a slob, yet?

What a rude attitude to have.

According to a lefty. Regular folks could see Z as an arrogant rude grub. Trump is doing what he said he would do last year. You are just a hater.

First, Churchill was entitled to wear a uniform. He was a veteran.

Second, Zelensky is not wearing a uniform. He is not a veteran.

Third, Zelensky is just cosplaying at being a soldier.

Fourth, Zelensky is the supplicant in the situation. He needs to walk small and talk smaller.

So, good for Zelensky, he won the battle of memes, eh? The only problem is, he 'won' at the expense of his country and his people.  He values his pride over his duty.

And, you really think Europe can step up to the plate without the backing of Uncle Sugar? They are great at talking and sending memos, but not so good at paying the bills.

So was Clint Eastwood. You don't see him dancing in high heels pinching other guys' bottoms.

Lovely deflection.  Good to see you are still deeply immersed in the fever dreams of those with "The Syndrome".

How about getting on board and hoping for peace?

Wow, such a mind reader you have become. If you are actually curious, you could check my posting history pre US election. Trump was not my choice to lead the GOP. But he is also better than Harris.

Ukraine is already AT "the dogs". Europe does not have the financial or military capacity to help in any material way. The numbers aren't there.  Plus, Europe is funding the war for Russia, buy spending billions buying Russian energy. Now, if they REALLY wanted to make a statement, they would boycott ALL Russian stuff, including gas and oil.
