What was the deal exactly? How would Trump have stopped the war if he had worn a suit?

I believe it was something along the lines of the Ukraine being expected to give up the lands  stolen by Russia and now illegally occupied, cede rights and income  to at least 50% of their resources to the USA in return for nothing and for no guarantees of security. In effect Trump was trying to bully a vulnerable country.

 

The USA encouraged Ukraine and willingly provided arms and supplies. Now all of a sudden  Trump  wants to make a retroactive claim for payment.

Yes indeed. But can't wait for Hanaguma's insight as he knows about "the deal" that was scuppered by a choice of clothes.
