I would need some more info thanks

I am thinking to buy a ticket flight to thailand very early as the price is very cheap! How many border run i can be able to do if i might come to thailand on free 60 days exemption entry?

And if i might decide to come with a METV, how many days in advance i should apply for it on the e-visa website? 2 weeks in advance should be good enough or 3 weeks in advance would be safer?

The embassy wouldn't mind if i have booked a ticket to thailand very early?

What does very early mean?

Do you mean decreases amount of time spent out of Thailand.

Depends on your history.

For border runs seems now best advice is to use border run company.

They facilitate smooth process.

Recent reports of folk being made to stay 1-2 nights out of Thailand.

Even at Nong Khai.

Err on the safe side. Thinking 3 better option. Haven't read any reports re process time.

You can book as early as you wish.

Great that's 6+ months out of Thailand.

Perhaps you may end up deciding to enter visa exempt

Ok great. But if I might decide to apply for a METV let's say the last week of June, the embassy wouldn't mind when they'll see that I booked a flight to Thailand early on march?

Why would they mind when you booked your flights? It's not even THAT early - I know people who book their long-haul flights almost a year in advance.

Sorry once again. But if i may enter thailand visa exempt i don't risk being able to do only one border run and not 2 border run in a calendar year? So maybe it would have more sense to apply for a single tourist visa, so i can have the possibility to do 2 border run in a calendar year that would give me the opportunity to stay in thailand for at least 9 months. 60 days tourist visa plus 30 days extension, then 1 border run of 60 days and 30 days extension and repeat the process with a second and last border run of 60 days plus 30 days extension, total 9 months of stay. Without waste too much money for a METV

The limit of 2 visa exempt entries via land borders was removed.

There is no stated limit on visa exempt entries.

It is recommended to use a minivan border run agent.

In more recent times seems some crossings are insisting on 1-2 night stay out of Thailand.

Covered in this thread....

Ok thanks for the info.
I saw that METV  is a bit expensive and now you can still get 60 days for free so i am thinking to just come to thailand visa exempt 60 days, then i will extend for 30 days at my local immigration. I will do 2 border run that would give me the opportunity to stay 6 months more, so i could stay for a total of 9 months, without having to apply for a METV

I've already purchased a ticket flight from my country to thailand. I still got much time to apply for a visa or not. am still thinking if apply for a METV or just fly without a visa, just buy an onward ticket that i can show to the airline prior the departure, in case they may ask

That is possible.

You would be advised to use land borders only.

Where would you be located in Thailand.

Ongoing you could check out DTV which is almost a too good to be true option and does not have Non O age restriction.

Clearly you are not 50yr +
