Health insurance advice Retirement Visa

Planning on moving to Thailand later this year. If you take out an annual health insurance you need to list pre existing conditions. Would the policy cover then exclude those conditions, or do they load the policy to cover them? I believe I read that for retirement visas the heath cover is required and it needs to be on an approved Government list. Any recommendations for healthcare policies? TIA.

Only for a non-OA.  That is not the visa you want.  You want a non-O based on over 50/"retirement".

As I read the Visa requirements in Spain, the "Retirement Visa" is an "Visa OA".

It is incorrect.   In any case you apply for an e-visa irrespective of which country.

Seems odd from the London website it shows non o retirementhttps://london.thaiembassy.org/en/page/retirement-visa, 

i would not advice the O-A visa as it will tie  you into a few approved medical insurers better to arrange cover from a decent insurer

You can always enter Thailand visa exempt/tourist visa and apply inside Thailand( non o retirement) it is a 2 step process but easy enough

You are typing about a Non O-A. 

Do you plan to live ongoing in Thailand.

If yes then you don't want a Non O-A.

You want a Non O.

That can be obtained outside of Thailand via e-Visa or at immigration office in Thailand.

Does not require any insurance.

We do plan to live long term in Thailand. Assuming we are not tied to the list of approved suppliers, does anyone have recommendations for medical cover? Having been to Thailand 3 times in the last 3 years, and witnessed the driving🫣,  we would be happier with insurance.

With a Non O you can have your own insurance.

I have insurance here in Thailand.  I have high blood pressure so my premiums are a little higher.  It is difficult to find health insurance here if you are over 65.  I got mine at age 64 and it will cover me until 85.  My premiums increase every 5 years and the increase is already determined in my contract.  My insurance has no deductible but I heard that new policies will have deductibles.
