Hi everyone,

I have been on a marriage visa for many years but recently run into unfamiliar territory so hope someone here has some knowledge regarding my question.

We are currently building in Krabi (already got bluebook) but my lease is running out and we are still a few months away from finishing. I don’t want to continue my lease and just want to live in a container next to the house while it is being finished.

Now, how do I handle a visa renewal. When immigration wants pictures of the house and comes to take pictures of the place as well. Are they going to be fine with us using the bluebook and showing a container as our place of residence?

Please don’t comment on the “living in a container” part, I have been in construction all my life and know what I am getting into with that. Just don’t know about immigration.

Just take pictures of where ever you are living at the time of application

they don't care  if its a hovel or a mansion..when they come to take pictures you can explain/ point out that  the house  (mansion)  is under construction  they may or may not take pictures of it..."up to them"    I wouldn't worry too much about it IMHO  of course.

That's probably true, just make sure there's a number clearly visible on the side of the container.

Go get a sign made with the house number and address on it. The following was given yesterday. This it is obvious out of date cuz it's still mentioning wife not your spouse or partner.

To my knowledge, you will need to file a TM30 where you are living for approval of your extension of stay, which might be difficult when living in a container on a construction site; i.e., who is registered as host.

Why not just rent a cheap room, where yoy can have your formal address; it won't stop you for having your assets in a container on the construction site a spend the night there. To my knowledge, you don't need to file another TM30 when sleeping elsewhere within the province.

It doesn't matter what you have it's the land and. Chanote nothing to do with the building on the site or not. And your TM30 only has to be done once in the last 3 months it doesn't need to be exactly the current place That's if your ass for one and you're only asked for one when you're in the tourist immigration areas

However, I cannot extend my permission of stay for another tear, without showing a TM30-registration to the immigration officer, it's actually one of the required documents on the list...

Yesterday I went to renew mine at the Chonburi/Jomtien office and there was a bit of a "ding dong" about the TM30,  as I had left the country  in November and came back in January to the exact same residence  the I/O perusing the visa extension seemed to think I should report again  but when going to the "report residence desk" with I/O's hand written note they  did not issue a new bit of paper which kind of flummoxed  the original  I/O when we returned, she faffed around for a bit but excepted the application... asking about  if I left the country through the automatic departure gates  for the life of me can't remember !!! ( old age)

Think I must have as there is no departure stamp in my passport ?

And also they did not hand out TM6  on the plane on arrival as of olden days..I know there is talk about a new E-arival card but it hasn’t materialised yet.

I was under the impression that if you returned to original abode

(with no other hotel stays in between)

then there is no need to report TM30 again but T.I.T

Also in many years past I have never filled TM30  and there was no problem extending my visa  not even a mention of it  until 2024  when it was suddenly needed to request  "certificate of residence" for driving licence...now it seems to be very required  for everything when dealing with immigration !

Thanks for your reply.

It seems to be slightly different from office to office, what they demands or request. Where I live, we must make a new TM30-notification if being outside the province. Other places it is if outside the kingdom, and there was a police order stating that if you returned to same address, you don't need to file a new TM30-notofication, even if you have been abroad.

Yes that is why I did not do it on my return..one Immigration officer seemed to think I should re do it  but the other one  20 meters away had a different idea 555 😋

Have you asked the local immigration office?

I would have thought that was obvious advice especially given unique question from OP.

Unfortunately the only contribution

from OP @Visa-question has been to start thread.
