A popular Facebook page has issued a warning to parents after a young child was injured when a grilled pork skewer pierced their face. The advice: always break off the sharp ends of skewers before giving them to your children.

On 13th March, the 'Issor Breaking News' page shared a post with photos illustrating the potential dangers of sharp skewers in children's meals.

The post cautioned parents to be vigilant, especially when children eat foods with skewers, like grilled pork sticks. The incident occurred when a young child was eating skewered pork while on a motorcycle; a sudden brake caused the skewer to pierce their face.

Fortunately, the injury missed any critical areas.

The post serves as a crucial reminder to break off the sharp points of skewers to prevent severe accidents. The page urges everyone to exercise these simple safety measures to protect children from harm, reported Daiy News.

Break off the sharp tip :cheesy:

And how do you do that, without making  possibly a sharper tip.   How about not giving you kid sharp pointed items to begin with.

Right.  Remove the meat from the skewer before serving it to them.  Problem solved.

That makes it harder to eat on the back of a moving scooter, though.  At least without getting grease all over everything.

Quite agree so I've just had this brainwave - eat your food first then get on the bike/car etc etc    😎

While the kid is riding pillion on the bike, I dont think that's very practical?

Seems like that's the problem.  Not the sharp tip.

It's easy to pin-point the problem, nothing between the parents ears.

Yeah.  It's those silly brown people.  Don't they know they need to buy a car so their kids can eat on the road and then they'll quit crying?  Like we do back home...

Reminds me of a very British incident many years ago at Uni...my mate was using one of those metal BBQ skewers to put a hole in a conker.

Finding this time consuming and difficult, in frustration he cupped the conker in his hand, turned it upside down and then forcefully pushed down the conker onto the skewer.

We were both startled when the skewer rapidly penetrated the conker, his palm and fully appeared out of the back of his hand.

No lasting damage done.  😄
