Husband Kills Wife in Brutal Attack Over Money Dispute, Arrested at Father’s Home

A 50-year-old man has been arrested on 14 March, for the murder of his wife, whom he allegedly attacked and suffocated following a heated argument over money. The suspect fled to his father’s house after the crime but was later apprehended by police.

Police were alerted to the crime by a concerned citizen and arrived at the scene in Khao Chaison District, Phatthalung Province, alongside forensic investigators and rescue volunteers.

Inside the bedroom of the couple’s home in Moo 9, Khao Chaison, officers discovered the body of Ms. Supaporn, 49, lying on the bed. She had suffered severe head injuries, believed to have been caused by a blunt object, and a pillow was found pressed against her face. Nearby, officers found a hammer, which was collected as evidence.

The victim’s husband, Mr. Saroj, 50, was identified as the prime suspect but had fled the scene.

The couple’s son told police that he discovered his mother’s lifeless body in the bedroom. He stated that his parents frequently argued, particularly over financial matters.

A short time later, police tracked down and arrested Mr. Saroj at his father’s home nearby. During questioning, he confessed to the crime, explaining that he had lost his temper after an argument over money escalated. He claimed that Ms. Supaporn insulted his mother, which enraged him. In a fit of anger, he strangled her and pressed a pillow over her face, leading to her death.

Following the killing, he informed his father before attempting to hide at his family home.

Authorities have taken Mr. Saroj into custody and will proceed with criminal charges, including murder.
