US deploys “overwhelming lethal force” against Houthis in Yemen

I have to admire this man of peace treating Houthis as Ukraine treats Russians (who are also terrorists).

Libya has a lot of potential as a new Riviera.

Posts using derogatory and toxic nicknames or intentional misspelling of people’s names will be removed. If you don’t want your post to be removed, spell people’s names correctly, this applies to both sides of the political debate.

Expansive anti-America rant, but meaningless; because you have simply bought into the disinformation of the poster you replied to; it has already been mentioned on this thread that this action has nothing to do with winning any asymmetric, war.

The purpose of this action is to degrade the capabilities of the Houthi terrorists as much as possible with minimum risk to the the lives of US servicemen. This is to stop, or limit their continuing attacks on International shipping, if you had been following events you would understand that.

Are you denying the Houthi’s are engaged in Asymmetric warfare?

Or simply accepting the best the might of the U.S. Military can do is try to degrade their capabilities?

Trump is behaving too much like a warmonger for my liking. I preferred it when he was a negotiator.

If he's not careful, he's going to start a worse war than Ukraine, and one he's not going to win.

Everyone has a weak spot, and seems as though the M E is Trump's.

The guy that may well start WWIII and usher in the end of humanity is named Marco Rubio.  A card carrying Neocon and big trouble, if you ask me.  "American exceptionalism" may be all well and good in some parts of the world, but that won't work when the adversary has enough nuclear weapons to wipe America off the face of the earth.  "Bomb, bomb, bomb Iran" is just asking for trouble.

The Middle East is a mess.  It's all interconnected and the problem has been brewing for years. Dropping bombs is not the answer.  Not in an area where you can't possibly win a war.  America needs to stop taking its foreign policy directions from Israel and face a few facts.  Anyway, I usually try to avoid thinking much about the Middle East, because its;s a problem with no solution.

And if you had been "following events", you would understand that as long as America limits their tactical offense to swatting at Iran's proxies, nothing will change.

That’s easy, just tell Hamas to release the remaining, completely innocent hostages, that they have been holding (with help from UNRWA) for more than 500 days; or is that too complicated for your particular armchair ?

You are being silly. If they released the hostages without stage 2 they will just get a continuation of the bombing. ........oh wait, the hostages just lost any chance of being released, didn't they!

Had stage 2 happened, all the hostages would have been released, but you know that.

So, just leave the Houthi terrorists to continue attacking International shipping unhindered; why did you post such a futile and meaningless comment, it’s as if you have no understanding whatsoever as to why the US are degrading the Houthis capabilities ¯\_()_/¯

You are just confirming, as if it were needed, that Hamas want the mayhem to continue, and that peace and releasing the hostages are two outcomes that they do not want to see  happen under any circumstances; and so it will continue, more lives lost because of the terrorists, and all the Hamas huggers on this forum will continue to blame and castigate Israel for it; twas always thus ¯\_()_/¯

Brainwashed or just ignoring reality? Israel tried to change the terms of the ceasefire, not Hamas. Had stage 2 happened, the hostages would have already been released.

Why don't you go and tell all the thousands of Israeli protestors demanding Netanyahu abide by the terms of the ceasefire that they are wrong?

In what way did Israel do that ?

Are you referring to when Israel protested about Palestinians dancing on the graves of the Bibas babies ?

Degrading the Houthies capabilities :cheesy:.

When are you Americans going to learn that when you go against citizens that will fight to the death against the American invaders you are going to lose? It's not as though you don't have plenty of examples- Korea, a bunch of peasants with AK 47s fight the US to an armistice, Vietnam, a bunch of peasants with AK 47s defeated the US war machine, Iraq, a bunch of peasants armed with AK 47s defeated the US war machine, Afghanistan, a bunch of peasants with AK 47s defeated the US war machine, Ukraine, a bunch of peasants with AK 47s is defeating the US proxy army. You should try it on Granada again- you might win there.

The Houthis are terrorists, not the citizens and the US are not invading Yemen. You need a reality check.

UPDATE:

Strikes on Houthis show Trump isn’t Joe Biden mumbling ‘Don’t’

president-donald-trump-waves-media-10016

President Donald Trump made that crystal clear by launching a campaign against Iran-backed Houthi militants in Yemen over the weekend. In contrast to President Joe Biden’s repeated, hollow “Don’t”s, which everyone ignored, it was action.

Which is why Iran should take Trump’s warning on Truth Social to heart: “Every shot fired by the Houthis will be looked upon, from this point forward, as being a shot fired from the weapons and leadership of IRAN” — and Tehran will “suffer the consequences, and those consequences will be dire!”

The attacks on Houthi positions — hitting 30 sites Saturday and more every day since — signal a new response to the Houthis’ terrorist assault on global commerce, far more lethal than Team Biden’s.

It’ll be an extended campaign, Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced, aiming to destroy the Houthis’ ability to strike international shipping: US attacks will be proactive and meaningful, not just symbolic pinpricks.

Iran is now the driver of most Middle East turmoil; Trump’s entirely right to say we can’t let it go nuclear — and right to give it a chance at a peaceful solution. The Houthis’ fate will nicely illustrate the alternative.
