August 9, 200718 yr My Thai better half has talked me into visiting Koh Samui in November to relax and do some snorkelling. Neither of us have been to Koh Samui - so I am just after some feedback from you locals, please. One place that grabbed my attention was Magic Resort, at Lamai Beach. Any coments positive or negative on the place? We are just after a quiet holiday with peaceful surroundings - I am a bit of a wimp and would like air-con and private bathroom with hot water. Internet access would be a bonus. Cheers, Peter

August 10, 200718 yr Some of the bungalows in the front have been refurbished, but overall, the place falls short of the sort of standard that Lamai is leaning toward these days. Try next door at Coconut Resort. Or a bit further toward the center at Lamai Inn 99.
August 10, 200718 yr If you are coming to Thailand especially for snorkelling, then Samui may not be the best place. In our opinion, Koh Tao is a much better bet - fantastic snorkelling straight off the beach with large groups of reef sharks and many other fish. We found the snorkelling off Samui rather disappointing. Lindsay
