A 42-year-old man was killed in a motorbike crash on an overpass in Nonthaburi in the early hours of his birthday, on 21 March. The victim, riding a high-speed Kawasaki big bike, lost control on a curve, collided with the bridge barrier, and was thrown 10 metres onto the ground below.

At approximately 02:00, officers from Chaiyapruek Police Station, along with emergency rescue teams from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, responded to reports of a motorbike crash on the Chaiyapruek–Ratchaphruek overpass in Pak Kret district, Nonthaburi.

Upon arrival, they found the lifeless body of Mr. Seksan 42, lying face down on the grassed area beneath the overpass. His green Kawasaki big bike, which bore no licence plate, was discovered resting against the barrier at the top of the curve. A damaged metal signpost, dislodged from the impact, was also found nearby.

A closer inspection of Seksan’s ID card revealed that 21 March 1983 was his date of birthday, he died on his 42nd birthday.

A 59-year-old taxi driver, Mr. Pisuth, recounted the moments leading up to the crash. He stated that he was driving along the overpass when his vehicle suddenly ran over a helmet lying on the road, causing him to stop. Spotting the damaged motorbike against the railing, he looked around but did not see the rider. Upon further inspection, he noticed the victim’s body lying motionless below the bridge.

The taxi driver also mentioned that just moments earlier, the motorbike had overtaken him at high speed before disappearing into the distance.

Authorities believe that the victim was travelling at excessive speed when he lost control on the curve. The bike collided with the barrier, causing Seksan to be thrown against a signpost before plunging 10 metres to his death.

Police will review CCTV footage from the area to confirm the sequence of events. The body has been transferred to the Institute of Forensic Medicine for an autopsy, while investigators continue their inquiries.
