Kanjanrat Sakdigratanasiri, affectionately known as Kai, invested 6 million baht (approximately $176,560) to bring her beloved dog, Pha Phang, back to life through cloning, creating Thailand's first genetically cloned dog. Pha Phang, a playful and lively five-month-old puppy, shows only slight differences in her left ear compared to the original dog, which passed away due to Canine Cushing’s syndrome. Driven by a profound emotional bond, Kanjanrat sought the expertise of Dr. Supasek Sonjit, Thailand’s pioneering veterinarian in canine cloning, to revive Pha Phang. Before proceeding, Dr. Sonjit questioned Kanjanrat about future care provisions for Pha Phang in the event of her passing. Kanjanrat addressed this by preparing a will to ensure care for Pha Phang and her other 16 dogs. She also showed readiness to face any societal criticism regarding her decision. For Kanjanrat, the expense was not about acquiring another pet but about rekindling a treasured connection. She described Pha Phang as an emotional anchor during hard times, justifying the considerable financial outlay, which could otherwise purchase numerous new dogs. The cloning journey involved extracting cells from Pha Phang and sending them to South Korea, where cloning expert Dr. Hwang Woo Suk cultured them. Initial attempts faced setbacks, as the puppies struggled to breathe independently at birth. Success came on the fifth attempt, culminating a year-long effort and achieving a first in Thai cloning history. The total process cost around 6 million baht, with Dr. Hwang generously waiving the additional genetic engineering fees in admiration of Kanjanrat's devotion to her dog. Upon meeting the cloned Pha Phang, the puppy displayed recognition of Kanjanrat and understood Thai commands, sparking discussions on the retention of memories in cloned animals. Despite potential ethical debates and criticism over her decision, Kanjanrat views cloning as a means of advancing love without harm, asking for respect for her personal choices. The late Pha Phang’s body remains preserved, awaiting a future burial at Kanjanrat's home—a decision that reflects her enduring attachment to her pet and her embrace of scientific possibilities to honour that bond, reported The Thaiger. -- 2025-03-26 -

Relationship advice / your experiences - No card or gift
Again you assume, as you were not there for any of my relationships, so guessing isn't going to work. My thinking what you did was cheap would be backed up by any man or woman that understands what appreciation is, so that shows your character more. Sorry you're missing that point, but I'm not the one who's wrong here. You not opening the gifts you were given means nothing to me besides the fact it's a deliberate act by someone who doesn't care, and that is something most people dislike. It wasn't an attack but just again, pointing out the obvious, something people do here all day long, as this is a forum to discuss, disapprove , or approve of topics and replies. You are the one who needs to step back and think about why YOU didn't open gifts given to you, and the reasons behind them are clear to myself and others, if not you. My character is one who cares about others, and that is plainly obvious to most members here with my replies and topics I've opened. It's also plainly obvious how I talk about my family and how much they mean to me, and that the only reason I'm still in Thailand is waiting for the right time to leave here with my daughter, so she has a better future. I dislike certain types of people and that is also plainly obvious,and the only ones who dispute me on that are the ones I'm referring to. My childhood was great. Good dad and mom and a brother, many friends I shared many good times with and family gatherings, very few bad experiences, no beatings from parents and parents who were there for me when I needed them, who taught me respect for life, animals, property and elders, and a belief in God. Where am I blaming everyone else about anything? I put blame exactly where it belongs, either on me or whoever is responsible, whatever the case may be. Where am I hiding in the crowd? I accept when I'm wrong about something and try to learn from it. I did say I picked the wrong person(s) to marry, as has everyone else who knows us. What I did was pick up the pieces and ensured my children were safe, with me, as the other side(s) were not capable. What I did and still do, is read everything I could find about what it takes to understand women, children and toxic people, and I mean everything, and that is where my knowledge comes from, along with personal experience. What does "hidden behind, supported them financially" mean? Divorced at least once with kids? That you pay child support? That's great if you do, but that also means you failed in at least one marriage, so don't think others who have failed are somehow bad and you're "responsible", as that's what I've been all the years I've been a father, 38 and counting and will be 50 by the time my youngest is out on her own. This is not the only time we've butted heads, and a lot here have noticed how you are, with this and other usernames. Nothing wrong with me but you really have a problem thinking otherwise, and that what you did didn't warrant a response from someone who understands a person who really doesn't care about others, even though they care about him, at least enough to give him gifts which mean so little.
