In Udon Thani never felt it, Even 2 dogs slept through it.

The three klong cats I see every night are missing in action, and the soi dogs are conspicuously absent from 7/11 since the shake.

Pattaya City Council reports no new cracks in the sidewalks.

There were reports that some cracks were actually repaired.

The drain on the balcony, clogged below where we could snake it, miraculously fixed itself we discovered today.

...that or there is now a broken pipe flooding the empty apartment two floors below.

Remind us, how much of Thailand gets flooded every year. Bangkok is an individual situation and cannot be classed as Thailand.

Same with 2011, not an "every year" event.

Tell us how many buildings fell down in Bangkok during the 2008 earthquake.

Why do some feel compelled to indulge in Thai bashing at every opportunity.

I'll just leave these here showing 22,23, and 24 while you stick your head in the sand.

Thailand is not even prepared for the floods they get every year.

Meeaning they can't learn from their mistakes in the past.

The building that came down was basically finished structurally. It should not have come down. Chinese company. People will need to be held to account.

Indeed, an investigation may well conclude that the incident is Thailand's "Grenfell".

From the AI.

"The Grenfell Tower fire inquiry concluded that the fire was a "culmination of decades of failure" by the government, construction industry, and other bodies, leading to the deaths of 72 people, with blame spread across a wide range of parties. "

You are perfectly free to believe what you read in the media. After living here for 16 years I have a fairly good idea of what goes on.

Unlike most, we do not have mains water and rely on rain collection, not always as much as we need.

You're clearly ignorant to your subjectivist falacy. Flooding causes a lot of problems around the country every year. You can't just dismiss it doesn't happen because your pond doesn't always full up.

You really need to get a grip on perspective.

I can remember being down walking street when there were no toilets open because of the water shortage.

Up until a few years ago we never saw any rain between Nov and May, but you claim "Thailand " cannot cope with the floods. Been more rain this year than ever, coming to the end of the dry season and instead of buying water all our tanks are full.

Unfortunately some provinces lack your foresight and the resources to deal with a continually changing weather pattern.

Reality is, it is 14 years since any major problems on a national level due to flooding and I hope it is something you never actually have to experience.

Department Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, the flooding in 37 provinces, mostly in the North and Northeast, impacted 181,870 households between August and September. The natural disaster also killed 49 people and injured 28 others

It was also considered the severest flooding in almost 100 years among 200 households in Chiang Rai’s Mae Sai district, where floodwater caused residences to be inundated and covered in mud, resulting in damage of around 4 billion baht.
