GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Posted April 1 Dear Folks, NO. NOT.... Thailand LOVES to have it the way it is. Why improve what IS NOT BROKEN? The power supply here is TERRIBLE...as anyone might see. And, DO THEY JUST LOVE IT....??????? Is this a total JOKE on the populace? They say...when the power fails, or is unstable, that.... THe reason for power instability is due to ... TREES..... Is that right....???????? Then, why not just cut down all the trees...BABY... RIGHT..... The reason the power fails, here is due to TREES.... What a JOKE. wHAT A JOKE.... HAHA. Hope you get the joke, because....I DO NOT....anyway.... Are you enjoying the STABILITY of the Power Delivery in Thailand....SO FAR....??????/ Sure... It is a TOTAL JOKE..... But.... Do we care????? And, why is stable power useful, anyway, for improving the well-being of society and the economy.... The Powers That Be do NOT care....for sure.... They think that deliver of stable power is just a JOKE.... RIGHT???? yEAH.... Such a GD ....JOKE.... Right? Things will NEVER CHANGE around here....and.... This is the way they LIKE it.... RIGHT? haha haha wE WILL be dead before they get things working right, around here.... Right? WHAT A JOKE.....!!!! =================== When they can't even get the POWER right, around here....it gives us.... a NERVOUS BREAKDOWN....Every time.... This is NO LIE, folks.... EVERYBODY needs to go SOLAR.....because..... They will NEVER give you stable power....
GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 My best advice to anyone planning to move to Thailand is this: Invest in SOLAR POWER, and plan on living OFF-GRID. The power deliver here in Thailand is EXTREMELY unstable. Therefore, if you plan to move to Thailand, then please plan on this. SOLAR in Thailand is really the ONLY WAY to go. The locals in Thailand actually ENJOY frequent power outages...and.... When the power returns.... YOU CAN hear the locals CHEER with delight!!!!! If this is your thing, and if you enjoy CHEERING the return of power....then no need to have your own Solar. The power supply here is a complete JOKE....mostly...due to.... TREES. They always point to the many trees here, as the principle reason that the power fails, so often. But, is this just a JOKE??? Who knows. If you believe what they are feeding you... The power here, is very unstable. Come here and see for yourselves.....
Popular Post NanLaew Posted April 1 Popular Post Posted April 1 For about 15 years, our moobahn power stability was abysmal, especially in the evenings around March and April when everyone was turning on their air-conditioning. Every summer, the transformer behind the local 7-eleven would spectacularly blow up, leaving half the homes in hot darkness for several hours. They would replace the transformer with one of the same size that would last about a year if we were lucky. Then I noticed them building a sub-station on the other side of the ring-road near our house that appeared to feed the new, tall power poles that were spreading towards the east, beyond our home. However, after it was finished several months with no improvement on our power, I assumed it was to feed newer urban sprawl out east. I was on the point of buying a voltage stabilizer even borrowed my mate's hydraulic crimping tool, but the day before I was going to go to Global House to buy it and the cable and lugs, I noticed loads of orange power company trucks in the area, and workers with their long-handled, isolated switch actuators hovering around the newly installed power poles. Around 5 pm, fai-dahp which lasted almost an hour before BAM!...240 Volts of rock steady AC power came on. That was the first evening where we didn't have clattering fridges, slow fans, warm air con and dim lights. Three days later, the trucks and switch guys were out, and there was a brief outage that was explained as completing the "load balancing" needed on the brand new power supply. Since then, maybe three years now, we've never had low voltage or no voltage. The OP should wait...or at least stop whining about it here. 1 1 1
GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 You know, guys.... Back in the 1950s.....in the great USA.... We NEVER had power outages like we now have in Thailand, in 2025. Why is THAT???? What is happening in Thailand that we have so many power outages, and unstable power conditions? And, is THIS a good thing for the younger generation. THEY SAY...that we will soon have NUCLEAR POWER generators, and the newest power generation tech here..... BUT..... SO FAR.... They cant even deliver stable power for just ONE WEEK, on end. Are they just JOKING with us.....? These days, stable electric power is CRUCIAL for almost everything we wish to accomplish. I think that, MAYBE, the Powers That Be still think they are in the Old Sugarcane Economy of old... What a JOKE....TOTALLY.... The guys here are just NOT on their game. They need to get the CHINESE INVOLVED. The Chinese guys have a FAR HIGHER IQ, as I DO know.... Just invite China into Thailand for about TWO years...and.... The CHINESE will get this place running right, in a hurry. Because, after so many years, the Thai guys are JUST NOT SMART ENOUGH....so evidently. YES, folks..... China could TOTALLY FIX this SMALL place in a HURRY...... I WELCOME China to come here...PDQ.... This is the ONLY way..... We need a working grid. And, we need far better infrastructure than any lazy people here have been able to institute...thus far. This will be BEST for the Thai people...... I LOVE the Chinese. I want XiJinPing to do his best for Thailand.....and.... GET THIS ELECTRIC GRID working RIGHT...please.....SOON.....! 1

There is no time to be lost. Kick out the lazy guys. And, invite in the Chinese who actually CAN DO..... This will be better for Thailand's next generation, the young people who need the best infrastructure that China can provide. TAIWAN is SMART China is Smart. We need SMART PEOPLE ...here....please... Taiwan IQ = 107 Check it out. Taiwan and China guys are SMART and CAN DO.....!!!!!!!!!! 1

Although, during the famous Ice Storm, then we did have a major power outage..... But, where I lived, there were no power outages, ever. Truth. No power outages here...because..... The Power Company cares. =========== No power outages in and around Taipei...because....the Power Company always does its job.
GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Sometimes, those who are planning to come to Thailand ask the question: What is the most important thing that I should bring with me to Thailand.... I can tell you. The MOST important thing that you should bring with you when you come to Thailand is.... SOLAR POWER. If you want to have a happy life in Thailand, then just bring Solar Power Panels, and a HUGE battery. The power here is TREMENDOUSLY UNSTABLE... Therefore, if you plan to do anything useful, which might involve or rely on dependable power, then.... DO bring an entire Solar Power Supply setup with a HUGE battery. Everybody knows this....because.... In so many places, even just outside the cities.... The Power Supply by PEA is pretty much unreliable and you will not be happy. Everything else in Thailand is TOP NOTCH...but..... The electrical power supply here is ....GARBAGE.... This is why you might need to supply your own power if you want STABLE power, 24/7. Truly, this is my best advice. Of course, this Solar Power will not come cheaply. I would guess that you might need to plan on spending about USD25.000.00 for a small solar power system for your house. But, believe me, it will be worth it...because.... Otherwise, the power here is for the birds...and, actually, far worse....believe me.
GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 Let me tell you..... The stupidest thing I ever did in my life has been to NOT prepare for all the frequent power outages here. And, I did not properly plan for these. And, I can tell you....that....THIS....is why.... I have had so many nervous breakdowns, throughout the years..... Please do not make the same mistake as did I. Solar Panels are now cheap. And battery costs are dropping, too. Do not get a nervous power breakdown, as I did, AND DO.... Please believe me... The local power company does NOT CARE about the likes of you... NO, they DO NOT CARE...... Note: In some countries, the power company cares about supplying very stable power to your home. But, in Thailand, ..... Everyone knows that this is just NOT TRUE.... Therefore....you must prepare and do it for yourself....or go crazy.....because...that's.... UPs to You, as the bar girls say, in Pattaya....

GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 ONE THING THOUGH..... For sure....FOR SURE..... No matter what THEY say.... The instability of electric power deliver in Thailand will NOT improve....APPRECIABLY ....within the next 10 years. If you think it will....then....you are DREAMING..... AND SO..... For the individual home owner.....then you just GOT TO DO IT YOURSELF...through SOLAR.... This is the ONLY way if you want stable power..... THERE IS NO OTHER WAY.... Suck it UP and pay the price..... We need SOLAR in EVERY LOUSY HOUSE here in Thailand.... This is the ONLY WAY...... SOLAR...... Thailand will NEVER have a reliable power grid...in... Our lifetimes..... Just suck it up...and.... DO IT YOURSELVES, Folks..... We need more Solar knowhow here, and, far more talented Solar Power installers, too...... This is what we need.

GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 27 minutes ago, blaze master said: Sure. How do I do that. Well.... a. Choose a higher resolution setting on your phone, for one. b. Then upload the full image to TV c. If this does not work, then....ask Khunla..... d. But, no need to ask. Just set your phone to highest resolution, and then upload it. Here is an image of 9MBytes. e. Anyway....really nice photos. I have not seen cold weather like this in about.....3 decades.... f. Now sure why this 9 MByte image is not expandable. Maybe it requires time to upload? Or....Let's just ask KHUNLA.....
GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 56 minutes ago, blaze master said: Sure. How do I do that. So why can't I see the full resolution image and expand it by clicking...IDK Very nice image though....and I would have liked to see the full image....

GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 56 minutes ago, blaze master said: I think my phone sucks. A34. No. I think you have uploaded nice and high resolution photos.....but.... For some reason, we cannot see the higher resolution photos which you have uploaded. This is not a problem with your phone.... Kunla knows more. Maybe this is just a settings problem with this site. NICE PHOTOS, still.....!!!!
novacova Posted April 1 Posted April 1 6 hours ago, GammaGlobulin said: What a JOKE. The joke is on you, a complaint about a trivial matter…especially when it’s about a dirt cheap product that only costs ~4.5฿ a unit.
kwonitoy Posted April 1 Posted April 1 When I lived in the country I had one of these with an automatic switch panel. Power goes out, 10 second delay and then the genset started automatically and when the load stabilized the panel would switch over to the genset power. 100 liter diesel fuel tank that would last for a week of continuous running In 25 years of living in Thailand this was the best thing I ever bought 1
GammaGlobulin Posted April 1 Author Posted April 1 1 hour ago, blaze master said: I think my phone sucks. A34. No. It does not suck. Good phone camera. Also, very nice photos, which are very interesting. My only point was that: a. These photos, once they have been uploaded to TV....cannot be clicked on to enlarge. b. Why this might be, who knows. c. Kunla is able to do it. He can tell you how to upload to TV so that the images can be enlarged. with a click of the mouse. d. Just for comparison's sake, I will upload an 8.1 MByte image, and it is the same thing...not sure why TV is unable to store and show the FULL-resolution image, at the click of the mouse. e. In the past, before the new TV software came into effect, then this was easy. f. Once again, I am not sure why one cannot click on large images, sometimes, and then be able to easily enlarge them, on one's screen. This was my ONLY question. And, I had no question about your phone..... Sooooo The above leafy image was uploaded as 7.1 MBytes. BUT, TV has cut this image down to such a puny 256 kb image.... WHY IS THIS....? Not very helpful....is it? I want to see the images uploaded of the ice storm, in higher resolution....but....how to do that? =================== This is a problem with the newer TV software......maybe.... But, why? ========= Below is the same image but from a screen capture. And, why did the original image not upload to TV, is the question.....

(Lately, I purchased a box of Lipton tea bags, and.....actually....really not TOO bad.... I have been enjoying it, in fact.)
