A 24-year-old motorcyclist was killed instantly after being struck and run over, by a 22-wheel lorry on Rama II Road near Bang Prakhaeo intersection.

At 10:30 on 3 April, police received a report of a fatal collision involving a large lorry and a motorcycle. Officers from Bang Mod Police Station, along with doctors from Siriraj Hospital and emergency responders from the Ruamkatanyu Foundation, arrived at the scene to investigate.

The crash occurred on Rama II Road heading towards Bang Prakhaeo intersection. A red Honda Wave 125i motorcycle was found overturned on the road, near the body of the deceased. The victim, identified as Mr. Jaruek, aged 24. His helmet was shattered, and he died instantly from the impact.

Approximately 80 metres away, near the traffic police booth at Bang Prakhaeo intersection, a white UD-brand 22-wheel lorry was parked, loaded with large concrete beams. The driver, identified as Mr. Suthat, aged 48, was waiting at the scene to cooperate with police.

In a statement, Mr. Suthat said he had been driving normally along Rama II Road towards Bang Na when he stopped at a red light. After proceeding, he was unaware that his vehicle had struck the motorcycle until bystanders alerted him. “I was shocked. I have never hit anyone before,” he stated, insisting that the crash was unintentional.

Police and forensic specialists from Siriraj Hospital conducted an initial examination of the victim at the scene before transferring his body for a detailed autopsy. Mr. Suthat has been taken to Bang Mod Police Station for further questioning, and authorities will proceed with legal action accordingly.

The investigation is ongoing to determine the precise cause of the crash.

Not back but the side, from the looks of it.

Probably misjudged distances by inches and got his wheel or handlebar caught in a tire and that was that.

No way the truck driver could have done anything to prevent this.

What the hell is the lorry driver supposed to do when an idiot on a bike drives straight under his back wheels? Surely no blame for the lorry driver.

Seems pretty clear. A young man dangerously crossed in front of one truck before trying to illegally join the main road. His bike then got caught by the side of the truck passing him which pulled him under the wheels, crushing his skull. He's probably done this thousands of times with no issues, however, it just takes that one time - this was unfortunately his time.

He illegally crossed over the solid line and hash marks to enter a roadway he is not allowed to access, then drives right under the rear wheels of an 18 wheeler. We all see this type of illegal behavior every day, motorcyclists who seem to think road rules and laws don't apply to them, add another Darwin Award winner to the list.
