Trump Accused of 'Market Manipulation' in Tariff Reversal Shocker!

Everyone knew it when he advised before his announcement, "This is a great time to buy" so no insiders!

Had he not said this, there might be grounds for insider trading, yes?

It is known as market manipulation, falls under the same category and handled by the SEC all the same.  It's like the difference between a hold-up and a mugging.  If you don't understand this, well . . .

Save the inane and pointless hair splitting for your Fox friends.

  • It's insider trading pure and simple, if he wasn't president and was a stockbroker the SEC would have him up on federal charges, but he would probably get away with those also, America is letting him

  • It is only insider trading if he or people he told bought shares. He probably did but we need proof. If he did, and this was planned it will go down in financial history as one of the bigges

  • He lost face,he chickened out! Some one grabbed his tiny little hands and told him to step back into line. The art of the deal? The world is now laughing at him and he will be no longer

The official explanation for Trump’s pause is hilarious.

"He actually planned this all along, to get other countries to the negotiating table"

Then what he said on "Liberation Day" was total B.S. as his real plan was to back down.. ?!?

Equally preposterous is his contention that he is giving other countries a break because they refrained from retaliating.

Wasn’t the whole point to levy "reciprocal" tariffs to compensate for the fact that other nations were supposedly screwing the U.S. economy?

What a crock. 😆

Haha bendejo I've a global finance career behind me and don't need to follow Fox when I can get all the light relief I need from ABC, BBC, Guardian, Washington Post and New York Times amongst my serious media of Politico, Al-Monitor and The Australian. But I still read the left/green shrills to get some balanced perspective and you?

As for market manipulation, hardly hair splitting when it either is or isn't. The SEC won't find a  case to answer, while all the petty benign luvvies and legacy media can knock themselves out.

Whilst some will have benefitted from these market movements, and some will have lost, I don't go along with this theory of conspiracy. . . .

. . . . The theory looks unlikely to me. But if Trump told anyone before he reversed on the tariffs, the possibility exists. Let's see if any facts emerge.

How did I get that so wrong? It appears that Trump may be immeasurably worse than I thought he was. Thanks to Stephen for this - "No facts will emerge since there will be no investigation".

I fear you are right Stephen - it will be an almighty task to get any independent evaluation, given the state of the Trump DoJ.

At first I missed the Trump tweet about the tariff suspension - "A good time to buy". Trump's USA looks more of a mess every day.

I was going to say Trump is a Russian Martha Stewart insider trading, but smoking weed with Kanye is just plain weird when he starts talking that Nazi stuff and Trump's idea of a garden is a fountain that people throw money in that he can collect and deposit into his bank account. 😄

The US "market" has "plunged" three times now and "surged" twice in the past couple of weeks (as of the time I'm writing this). I'm sure a few people (Trump insiders) have made a lot of money on this. But, of course, that should not be a surprise to anyone. That's what Trump is all about. 😡

Stoic defiance in ‘trinket town’ echoes Beijing’s insistence that nation can prevail against Donald Trump’s tariff blitz

A Trump baseball cap, for instance, cost only Rmb7.50 ($1) to produce.

Tariffs might raise that cost to Rmb20, but the caps were being sold for $50 in the US.

“American sellers could even use the tariffs as an excuse to raise the price to $60 — yet the extra cost will still be borne by the US consumers,” said Qi.

Now who on God's Green Earth would be stupid enough to pay $60 for a $3 Trump cap?

Oh.  Wait. 😄

Senator Schiff is adamant about uncovering any wrongdoing, vowing to hold the administration accountable. He stresses the need for transparency, asking who might be cashing in on the market’s wild ride.

Let's start with Pelosi .  she has the most experience in this type of matter !

Trump isn't even trying to hide this. He's even bragging about how much money his friends made from his actions.

A dead cat will bounce more than the US ‘market’ has—if you drop it from high enough.

Doesn’t mean it ain’t already dead.

This pic will be in circulation long past his lifetime.

And that other president with the chain saw.  The one with the sink, too.

Charles Schwab made two billion dollars. 👍

In a video posted to X on Wednesday, 9 April, the president introduced NASCAR drivers to the founder and chairman of Charles Schwab Corporation, a multinational financial services company.

“It’s not just a company, it’s actually an individual,” Trump told the racing drivers.

The president added that Schwab “made two and a half billion today” from the stock market.

Can I call you Chuck? 😃

Wait-what-meme-rage-face-300x261 (1).jpg

By name checking CS he did him no favor.  He implicated him.  This is his Valdemort aspect: everyone that throws in with him comes out for the worst, and he just skips away.   Oh my!  Adam Schiff, Liz Warren and Chuck Schumer on the case?   I'm sure DT is quaking in fear already!  😁

I've been watching these political and media lackeys, market poobahs etc exuberantly polishing his buttocks, "economic genius" etc.  Truly sickening.  On the other hand for $2.5 billion , , ,

I guess it's time to watch 'The Magic Christian' again.
