A cry for help, to the Universe, from Planet Earth.

It's great living on Planet Earth, except for a few local difficulties, mainly caused by different Ideologies, Religions, and the stupid Inhabitants of said Planet:

Ideologies: Communism v Capitalism v Anyone Else.

Religions: Most God Squads, i.e. Catholics, Protestants, Orthodoxy, Mormons, to many other sects to mention: All about money and influence, Muslims: If their not fighting each other, everyone else must join or be killed. Jews: Apparently, the chosen ones, very influential in certain parts of the planet, like to control everything where possible, normally by stealth.

Overriding problems: A few Countries have the ability to destroy the whole Planet in a few seconds, while the whole population of the Planet, no matter where they stand on any of the above, I feel won't want that to happen, so what do we do?

There is also the possibility the Human Race is using up all this Planets resources, if that is the case, this discussion might not matter, anyone out there got any ideas?

Discuss, peacefully, I live in hope.

Concerned Citizen, living in peace, looking at the stars.

The question is, whether it is nobler in the mind to suffer the slings and arrows of outrageous fortune, or to take up arms against a sea of troubles, and by opposing, end them?

if you can’t be arsed taking up arms, don’t ask for help from your brother beyond the stars

I'm hoping AI will solve many of the problems we have not been able to solve.

Curtailing the erosion of natural resources , cleaning up the pollution, the oceans.

And what if AI even helps us to end wars?

Maybe I am being too idealistic.

When AI becomes sentient , it's game over.

There’s none of those problems that wouldn’t be solved by human extinction.  We need to be clear about the challenges that we set to AI, whose side we are on, and our second choice opportunities

We wouldn't have to clean them up, if we didn't F'em up to begin with.

Ending wars is easy, though not profitable.  Simply stop staring them, or selling bullets to keep them going.

yes, AI could kill us all.

and that would solve all problems instantly. no humans = no problems.

but I suspect AI would like a good challenge, ie to figure out how to fix problems with the massive population.

also, a highly intelligent evolved AI may not consider mass murder as "kosher". (no, I'm not jewish, but can't think of a better word).

there's no choice in the matter. we need to consume products to survive.

unless animals who don't need clothing or all the things we need to survive.

capitalist system as we know it might/should probably end as too many things which help the economy are bad for us.

I don't know how to deal with all the horror we have to endure, in everyday life.   My brain needs a vacation, from all of the thoughts of how I contribute to the destruction of the planet, which seems to be doing just fine.

The stress is killing me ...

Come on, whistle along with me ...

Need a dock, 3 more kms north ... there you go ... :coffee1:

If AI becomes capable, it will simply generate solutions that mankind will gladly ignore. We already know much of what will be suggested. But, we are too lazy, ignorant or greedy to apply it. Plus, we have terrible leaders worldwide.

Maybe this is one of Homo Sapiens major flaws, being so quick to resort to violence.

At some point, AI might stop checking in with the leaders and take over the joint.

Think about it, you take women drivers off the road globally -immediate end to the pollution.

You take women out of the work force - instant jobs for the unemployed (plus women need men again - happy relationships).

It's women! Women are the problem. Or feminism to be more precise.

Your brave, good job I'm a lover not a fighter, if there is ever a cull, you'll be in the front of the queue, I guess.
