Certainly true, how gullible are the girls who get covered at a young age, worse of all with a falang boyfriends name, like fredwiggy

You're a very disturbed little man scuba. You pay for sex, with a high percentage of women here who have tatts, maybe 90% or more, so do you consider them all lower class, these women you spend so much time with and sometimes get an STD from? By the way, I've been with almost 100 women, and none had tattoos, so your assumption, again, is wrong. I have 5 children, all with a way above average IQ, and all have tattoos, so there's another assumption out the window.

i think the girls are great, i have more respect for them than many other occupations, they are earning money for their family mostly, these are the girls you look down on, despise, you've made your views known on that, you are a typical religious person, bigoted

I have never said I look down or despise them. I actually feel badly for them, thinking they need to go to this trade to make money, besides the ones that are forced into it by traffickers, scumbag parents or addictions. Most have been assaulted as children by family members in some way, again, besides the ones noted before. If you think it's a good thing to promote this trade, where women are used, beaten and sometimes killed, that's your problem, as it's not the glamorous thing some believe.

It has nothing to do with religion but morality, something which some lack and is one reason the world is so out of kilter. Bigoted? Another word chosen that's wrong. Being "religious" isn't a bad thing, but I'm guessing you don't understand that. And I'm not against people who don't believe in God. That's their choice, and I have a few friends who don't, and it doesn't affect our relationship.

By the way, many of them aren't earning money for family but drugs and survival in a city far from home, and they would be much better off with a lesser paying job and home with any children they might have, staying with family for a lot less than in a big city and taking a risk with their lives and health, as many , a high percentage, carry STD's, some of which you stated you caught.

No. Bali is awful. The massive congestion in the southern third of the island is like something out of a horror movie. I remember once I was on a motorbike and it took me 2 hours to go to kilometers in Legian due to traffic. The entire time was transversed on the sidewalk because the road was a parking lot that just would not move.

If you could station yourself in Ubud or north, or on the northwest coast or some other area like that it could be quite a lovely place to be, but if you're in a rural area there's not going to have much in the way of services and getting in and out of Denpasar is an unbelievable nightmare. Bali was great back in the 80s but since then it's gone downhill.

The upside to a place like Ubud is great Jazz, a lot of culture, incredible handicrafts, good art and Incredible food but you have to deal with a lot of downside, and it's quite a bit more expensive than Thailand.

Yep,

Plenty to agree with in this paragraph.

Many of them set off from home with the intention of sending money back to take care of the kids they have left with their parents, etc.

However, they become enamoured with the bright lights, restaurants, easy money, and fast living.

Family then takes a back seat, and sex, drugs and rock n' roll take over.

Yes I always believed that ,so stayed away

Now we must explain possibly in a "Academic" way what exactly the word "bogan" may mean.

Perhaps it's the equivalent of the "chav" in England terms ?

It's the lower class Aussie...bogan ..tatts singlets etc ....

I certainly do not mix with the peasant Aussie ( bogans)  and fly business class to avoid the bogan elements

But it appears the bogans are in a place called Kuta

Retirees expats appear to live away from that Kuta area

The entire  SW 1/3rd of the island is a horrific blight zone. Kits, Legan, Seminyak. Dreadful. Massively overdeveloped, horrifically overcrowded, tremendous traffic, and a lot of young, rowdy Aussies that are not pleasant to be around.

Thank you for that.

That's Bali.

Well, it's genuinely off my list.

I'm not a fan of massive crowds and traffic jams these days. I can cope with Phnom Penh or Bangkok, even Hanoi, for a maximum of three days.

I have always believed Bali was an exotic beach destination, without seriously googling the place.

Nowhere near Grandpa status, old fella.

I jog at the local lake for an hour every night and go to the Gym five days a week.

No alcohol for the last three months. I certainly look better than I did.

I prefer Danang, Siem Reap, Vientiane, Nakhon Phanom, etc.

I also like where I live, with a slower pace, and don't feel the need to be ogling women or listening to the SAS exploits of pot-bellied foreigners in the bars of Bangkok.

That was my experience as well. I would also add that as good as Thai cuisine is, Indonesian and Balinese cuisine is a cut above Thai cooking.

Bali also has a spiritual vibe most of Thailand has lost already. Better coffee too.

It was sad to see Indonesia abandon its country to the Chinese at Lake Toba and to assorted Australians and Russians in Bali now, their presence degrades Bali significantly.

However, if I had to leave Thailand Bali would be top of the list.

What a Crock! Balinese and Thai culture are incomprable. I have come to know and love them both. As is the cuiseine. You obviously have not spent any significant time in Indonesia to know what you are talking about.

The only thing you may have correct is the Indo coffee, refined from Monkey crap is excellent.

I need Bali retiree expats to tell me the difference in living in Bali vs Thailand ( Pattaya & Phuket )

I'm watching YouTube vids on Bali and despite the classic 1980's  Aussie song by Australian group Redgum "I've been to Bali too "

I NEVER have !!!

Is Bali beating Thailand now in Australian retirees ?

I think so

What's the difference in pricing ,visas ..oh please stay on topic

Retirement visa ?

Rents ?

And stop singing ..I've been to Bali too ....I've been to Bali too"

Bali has more trash on the beach.

No just all the bogans

As an Australian I wouldn't go to Bali if you paid me.  Certainly don't want to go on holidays and sit in a bar full of  drunken Aussie yobbos because I can do that in Australia. At least in Thailand there are plenty of drunks in the bars but they represent many countries and some of them are actually interesting to talk bullsh*it with especially the one with an extensive career  in the SAS and nuclear science developing the latest  weapons.
