A crash has left one person dead and three others seriously injured after a red saloon car from Bangkok slammed into the rear of a stationary pickup truck in Phu Kam Yao district, Phayao province. The collision, which took place late on 28 April, left both vehicles damaged, with debris scattered across the road.

Officers from Phu Kam Yao Police Station received reports of a collision involving multiple casualties along the Phayao–Pa Daet Road, near Ban Jen in Dong Jen Subdistrict. Emergency responders from the Ruamkuson Phayao Association, Luecha Foundation, and Phu Kam Yao Emergency Rescue Unit were dispatched immediately to the scene.

On arrival, rescue workers found a red Suzuki saloon car (registration from Bangkok) with severe front-end damage, while a black four-door pickup truck was located nearby with extensive rear-end destruction. Debris from both vehicles was strewn across the roadway.

Four victims were trapped inside the wreckage of the saloon car. Rescue personnel worked swiftly to extricate them, providing emergency medical treatment before transferring them to hospital. Despite their efforts, one victim, identified as Mr. Krisana Singkaew, was later pronounced dead. Three others sustained critical injuries.

CCTV footage revealed that prior to the crash, the black pickup truck had parked by the roadside while the driver unloaded rubbish to place beside a wall. The red saloon car, travelling at high speed, crashed directly into the rear of the pickup, sweeping both the vehicle with it and resulting in the casualties.

Police are continuing to investigate the incident.
