They should go to France, plenty of legal nudist beaches mostly by the french riviera in the south (even resorts and hotels catering for that) . And full of "swingers" there too for those who fancy that :)

Thai society is in fact more violent and it is getting worse, sadly due to POOR AND INCOMPERTENT  reporting by the Authorities and the Press, the true scale is hardly ever known .

So a mistake or blatant error of judgement is made far worse than it actually is while the horrific murder by anyone is politely swept under the carpet in case Thailand loses face. Lost credibility yuears ago so NOT telling the truth looks now far worse.

Do not lump all Thais into one stereotype. As in other countries, there are various stages of decency in Thailand. Those bar girls working in Thailand are mainly from issan stock. Not all Thais are prudes and not all Thais are loose. However Thailand is still a conservative country steep in their culture and nudity in public is just a western 

culture not appreciated in Thailand. However when in their country, respect their cultural sensitivities or else go elsewhere. I believe Thais would not miss these type of  tourists.

ok. However, nudism is  just as taboo in Poland  as it is in Thailand, perhaps more so.  Polish people do not usually expose their bodies in public places. They don't even jaywalk. It is the land where people do not smile in public, that's how tightly would they are.

It takes real arrogance and a disrespectful mentality to do in Thailand what they would dare not do in their homeland. They don't look like respectable people either.

Being a naive, backward, Puritan inhibited American (OK, not really), I remember fondly a couple of European experiences. The first was visiting the Costa Del Sol where my ex-Wife and I came across a beach full of bare breasted beauties. Ah, yes, I learned a new chapter of "eye candy". The second time, I was leading an American Scout Exchange to Europe through our Sister City program. In Switzerland or maybe it was Germany, we were on a river rafting trip. Coming around one river bend there was a substantial grassy area with sun bathers. There they were again, those bare breasted beauties! As the Scouts were both male and female, I have no doubt I, like Socrates, could have been found to be corrupting youth by some in our conservative home area of western Kentucky.

I don't know for sure.. but if there were nudist and naturism beaches and resorts it could attrack even more tourists.. THailand has nice weather for these kind of people.. and with the constantly declining tourists, you should maybe be more openminded and find other groups  to get an holiday here

Agree - admittedly this is more serious than the women who sunbathed in a bikini on Sanam Luang (BKK) and Temple grounds in Chiang Mai...  but the puritanical hypocrisy is practically Olympic-level at this point, the response is a bit rich when all thats needed is a 'firm word'...  "not acceptable - Dress pls, or we arrest".

 

... Instead, the response and the overly puritanical media outrage attempts to create an international incident when nearby a blind eye is turned to one of the largest prostitution scenes in the world, whole red-light districts - open, advertised, and booming - It's part of Thailands charm....  Yet, the moral outrage only gets wheeled out when there's a chance to publicly shame a foreigner and score purity points. It’s not about upholding Thai values - it’s about theatre.

 

The issue isn’t the act, it’s who is doing it and how visible it is.

 

Thats particularly noticeable when local authorities turn a blind eye to the neon-lit parade of sex tourism night after night, but whip themselves into a frenzy the second someone breaks a dress code in the wrong postcode.

 

It’s performative, selective outrage - and it reeks of a double standard.
