Upnotover Posted April 29 Posted April 29 No issues with documents, all the same as normal. But whereas last year the process took less than 30 minutes today it was 1 hour 40. Last year the entire process from documents to stamp was handled by one person. This year that person did the initial part of the process, checking all the documents and taking the 1900 baht, then handed everything to the girl behind her and told me to wait, which I duly did. Eventually another assistant chap called my name and I was good to go. Three people instead of one. Not that I am that bothered but I missed my appointment for a re-entry and no way was I queuing for that as that also took 90 minutes last year - I'll get one at the airport next week. Which process is normal I have no idea, I'm guessing it's just an example of consistent inconsistency as applies to many things. 1

It's always been a team process for my annual extensions at CW. First is the io for the initial check. Then she passed the banking docs in particular to male chap seated to the rear. Financials using money in bank option. Finally it all goes to head at rear of (think L33) Then after that the goffa calls your name and you are right to go. So yes 3 officials + goffa + doc check chicks at the start. BTW did you provide a TM30 and TM47 receipt? 1 1

What time of the day did you go rolling into BKK CW this year? Time of day can make a difference on the time needed to complete the process.

I had a 1pm appointment and was seen exactly on time. But I could see that pre-lunch people were returning to complete the process which is likely the cause of the delay as the girl at the back was getting swamped.

I've been lucky and have been able to obtain appointment in recent years. They run spot on time. Even then I would be lucky to walk out 90 minutes later with stamped pp. 1

Question for anyone: Can he only apply for re-entry at CW or at the airport, or can he apply at any Imm office (like Samut Prakarn, which is quieter that CW)?

You can obtain reentry permit at airport on day of departure. Works a treat. Edit: @Bredbury Blue if you decide to obtain reentry permit at airport ask for advice as for example process is slightly different at eg BKK vs DMK. Very simple and efficient 1

Well, over 5 extensions I have never had one person handling everything. In fact I believe the staff at the regular L-counters are not even allowed to sign off on the stay permit, this is handled by the senior IO's sitting at the back. Finally, a trainee (?) or junior staff will hand your your passport and bank book.
