Not an extensive one. Of very limited scope and maintaining 10% tariffs on UK imports (which is better than 25%, of course). Not comparable to the deal with India, for example.

Ignoring your bitter "sore loser" attempt to downplay everything Britain has achieved in such a short period of time, you appear to be acknowledging that we have multiple better/new trade deals, without having to subsidize the EU to the tune of Billions every year while being told what to do by Brussels.

 

All of that in only 5 years. Many decades of freedom/deals still to come.

The U.S. last year had a $12 billion trade surplus with the U.K., so it’s a puzzle why Trump punished the country with higher tariffs, which were supposed to target those countries selling more products to the U.S. than they were buying.

The timing about the India deal is quite obvious. If they signed a deal first with the UK, it means there is nothing in it which can be used by the EU to get more concessions. Otherwise it would be easy for EU representatives to argue that if India granted a benefit to the smaller UK, they must also grant it to the EU (India's largest export market). So it can be assumed that it won't be better than the deal between India and the EU. At best, it may be as good.

We wanted free trade deals after inflincting on ourselves removing ourselves from a trade block because of racists .... so now we are getting some decent trade deals, we still have people moaning.

 

It's almost as if trade, economy were never really the issue. It was just plain old racism dressed up in a intellectual manner.

Who could forget the UK/Australia deal, it was much in Australia’s favor that Australian news readers where laughing as they described it to their audiences.

 

Johnson’s eagerness to announce the deal before it was agreed left him at Australia’s mercy. He either signed or admitted his lies.

 

Given the choice between doing what’s right for Johnson by admitting his error, or signing a deal that was not in the UK’s best interests, his ego got the better of him.
