So before you change the subject, where are the other 198 that are indentical to the EU? Or were you talking out of your arris?

That's before we consider the Australia deal signed November 2021.

That's the rumour.  😃

I don't think the EU deal will even happen.

Trump hails... 🤣

It’s a PR Trade Deal, the very fact that it’s so limited in scope is an indication of how weak Trump’s position is.   He needs this very limited deal in order to claim some victory.

Right, only around 80%. And not particularly better than the deals made by the EU with the same countries (ex. Japan).

Well, this one is not a trade deal.

As to the deal with India, the EU will also sign a deal  this year. Do you think the UK deal will be more advantageous than the EU deal?

You should tell Starmer that too then.

Starmer hails second trade win in a week after UK's tariff deal with Trump

Not an extensive one. Of very limited scope and maintaining 10% tariffs on UK imports (which is better than 25%, of course). Not comparable to the deal with India, for example.

Now show these over 5 years.

How is that relevant, or are you gonna Trump for the gains the stock market made during Biden's term?

Actually, it's "only" around 93%.

The UK rolled over 68 EU-negotiated trade deals and has signed 5 new deals since Brexit with:

(1) The US: Extremely limited in scope and expected to have minimal economic impact

(2) Japan: An extension of the EU - Japan deal. Very few marginal gains.

(3) Australia and (4) New Zealand: Deals described by George Eustice, a Brexiter ex-Environment Minister as follows, “Overall the truth of the matter is that the UK gave away far too much for far too little in return.”

(5) India: The one significant deal. However, should the EU and India reach an expected agreement later this year, the UK - India deal will need to be measured against that.

And all these deals have been made against the cost of making life more difficult for exporters to and importers from our biggest market which is on our doorstep.

Yep, viva Brexit!🤦

Ignoring your bitter "sore loser" attempt to downplay everything Britain has achieved in such a short period of time, you appear to be acknowledging that we have multiple better/new trade deals, without having to subsidize the EU to the tune of Billions every year while being told what to do by Brussels.

All of that in only 5 years. Many decades of freedom/deals still to come.

Sounds good to me!

Viva Brexit!!!

The U.S. last year had a $12 billion trade surplus with the U.K., so it’s a puzzle why Trump punished the country with higher tariffs, which were supposed to target those countries selling more products to the U.S. than they were buying.

Being extremely generous and counting all 5 trade deals as pluses, what other benefits has Brexit brought for the "indigenous, working class, British male"?

If you think that Brexit has been a success overall then you are using a strange set of success criteria and are easily pleased.

The timing about the India deal is quite obvious. If they signed a deal first with the UK, it means there is nothing in it which can be used by the EU to get more concessions. Otherwise it would be easy for EU representatives to argue that if India granted a benefit to the smaller UK, they must also grant it to the EU (India's largest export market). So it can be assumed that it won't be better than the deal between India and the EU. At best, it may be as good.

We wanted free trade deals after inflincting on ourselves removing ourselves from a trade block because of racists .... so now we are getting some decent trade deals, we still have people moaning.

It's almost as if trade, economy were never really the issue. It was just plain old racism dressed up in a intellectual manner.

Did you even read the article? It appears you like to sensationalize small issues just like the media.

'Can I pay tribute, Donald, to your negotiating team,' he began. And 'I want to thank you for your leadership, Donald. I'm really pleased. It feels really historic. Really good to talk. Tribute to your leadership.'

Keir Starmer is an astute operator, he knew his only chance was to roll over and have his belly tickled by Trump and lick his cheeks, and Starmer did so unashamedly and with gusto.

Good work Labour!

That gross cringeworthy sucking up to Trump was from his cabinet meeting. Starmer didn't said that. I have his full text.

It's only the first steps into the deal. No PR about it. You simply have to go anti-Trump with every breath. Cutting tariffs on UK steel and aluminium from 25% to 10% and cars from 27% to 10% for the 1st 100,000 imports and 0% tariffs on RR engines for jets isn't a PR stunt.

What were the tariffs before he took office?

Who could forget the UK/Australia deal, it was much in Australia’s favor that Australian news readers where laughing as they described it to their audiences.

Johnson’s eagerness to announce the deal before it was agreed left him at Australia’s mercy. He either signed or admitted his lies.

Given the choice between doing what’s right for Johnson by admitting his error, or signing a deal that was not in the UK’s best interests, his ego got the better of him.

The first paragraph?

" Former" U.S. President Donald Trump

Surely that can't be true!

Trump is always referred to as "Former President Trump"--not just in this thread.   A good tip-off the story was written by a clueless AU program.  (Artificial Unintelligence)
