Is this a win?? Surely it has to be, right?

Detroit automakers fuming after Trump’s first trade deal gives preferential treatment to imported U.K. cars over their own

https://www.aol.com/finance/detroit-automakers-fuming-trump-first-120417900.html.

"A lobby group representing General Motors, Ford and Stellantis attacked Trump for prioritizing a deal with the U.K. over the two largest U.S. trading partners on the country's doorstep. “Under this deal, it will now be cheaper to import a U.K. vehicle with very little U.S. content than a USMCA compliant vehicle from Mexico or Canada that is half American parts,” they said."

What exactly is a UK made car?

You lot were bitchi g about tariff in the first place and what a disaster they were, now you're bitching about them not being implemented.

From the brief clip I saw yesterday is on the first 100k cars, the tariff go on after.

You could also say why not wait for the details of this one. From the OP link:

The timing of the tentative deal—which is itself only a broad outline and has yet to be finalized—was however governed by political realities on each side of the Atlantic.

Hey, Dima, where you been? On a "holiday?" Welcome back!

Just to clarify, who have been "bitching about them not being implemented"? Can you elaborate, buddy?

Jaguars for self driving cars ,range rovers were always in demand ,nothing has changed

Didn't I read just yesterday that Jaguar is looking for a new advertising agency after their woke rebrand went all Bud Light on them?

It's in the Daily Mail and the Telegraph at least...  Go woke.  Go broke.

Here's a thought.

Instead of throwing your toys out of the pram, why not wait to see the deals he negotiates with Canada and Mexico?

Because that doesn't fit with the screaming unhinged left persona.... trump l bad, everything bad, hysterical clucking and screetching and unhinged nonsense

Yeah, but the Type 00 looks pretty awesome.

The ad reminded me of the 1993 Dunlop ad which was also very arty, not much to do with tyres, but 32 years later, is still memorabel

Jaguar always faced a problem with a rebrand. There are the pipe smokers, into their walnut dash, leapers and JRG paint jobs, who think Jaguar died in 2011. The XE was a mistake.

I'm not sure where this idea that the ad is so-called "Woke". It was criticized because of the lack of a car. Its the morons who keep calling it "Woke".

Jaguar did need a reset. They aren't going to compete with BMW, which as a brand, has gone downmarket. Similarly Mercedes.

Whats clear with the new brands, mostly but not always, from China, is that they are very strong on design. Most people are genuinely shocked with the apparent quality of BYDs and even MGs, let alone brands like XPeng. The legacy brands first EV offerings were a bit fuddy duddy. The removal of an engine under the bonnet does free up the possibilities for designers.

EV was always going to be challenging for car design. The electric motor commoditizes the car. Its pretty easy to put together a 1000hp package. SO the USP has to be somewhere else rather than the question about how many cylinders a car has.

The man who cannot negotiate his way out of a paper bag, gives away the store to the UK. Just wait for the China deal. More Trump concessions.

Well Peter Mandelson, aka the Prince of Darkness, is a smooth dog. The President initially hated the idea of him being the UK's Ambassador to the US,given his previous comments.

Upon meeting, the President's greeting was

Quote

God, you’re a good-looking fellow aren’t you

Lord Mandelson is known as an uphill gardener and might have thought then he was in with a chance of a threesome with the President.

They/them/those are referring to these awokened creatures who are unlikely to drive anything other than a stolen shopping cart.
