Did Trump actually succeed in getting Pakistan and India to ceasefire?

Each country has their own version of how their ceasefire came to be.

Trump says his negotiating team got them to agree.

India says Trumps team had nothing to do with it.

Pakistan says Trumps team got them both to agree.

What do you think?

Here is the story.

Here are the latest developments:

Trump announces ceasefire: The halt in fighting was first announced by US President Donald Trump, who said in a post on social media that the agreement came after a night of US mediation.

India and Pakistan confirm: India and Pakistan soon confirmed Trump’s announcement, saying the ceasefire became effective at 5 p.m. New Delhi time (7:30 a.m. ET).

India downplays US: India’s Foreign Secretary Vikram Misri did not mention US involvement when announcing the agreement, and an Indian statement said the deal was worked out “directly” between the two countries, contradicting Trump’s claim.

Pakistan praises Rubio: But a Pakistani government source familiar with the negotiations told CNN that the US — and Secretary of State Marco Rubio in particular — played a crucial role in getting both sides to agree.

This follow and AP news are crediting it to Trump.

Here is why. If so, this is a good win for him and will irk the Haters and Dems even more.

Why India and Pakistan are making separate claims on the US role in the ceasefire, according to an expert

From CNN’s Aditi Sangal

As a ceasefire was announced between India and Pakistan on Saturday, President Donald Trump hailed the role of the United States in mediating, and Pakistan praised it — but India downplayed it.

In their long history of tensions, India and Pakistan have both viewed foreign intervention differently:

“India has never accepted mediation in any dispute, be it India-Pakistan or India-China, or any other,” according to Aparna Pande, research fellow for India and South Asia at the Hudson Institute.

“So yes, India welcomes international pressure on Pakistan, but it will never state that there was a role by any other country or international organization,” she said.

“Pakistan, on the other hand, has always sought international mediation, so they will praise it,” she added, saying it is “the only way it can put pressure on India to discuss and resolve the Kashmir dispute.”

Guarantee nobody here will give any credit to Trump if he infact did.

Its good news! Good news travels fast!

If it was bad news the Left would have their familiar threads denouncing the usual Trump  nonsense .

"Ceasefires are fun and easy to win!"

Explosions heard in Kashmir just hours after Pakistan and India agreed ‘full and immediate’ ceasefire brokered by US

MULTIPLE explosions have been heard in India-controlled Kashmir just hours after India and Pakistan agreed to a ceasefire deal.

Heavy artillery shelling and several drone intrusions into the Indian airspace were reported in many parts of Indian Kashmir.

That news is going to upset the Trumpettes claiming a win for Trump. Are these people idiots? Do they have Biden on the brain? Everything is Dems and the Left, simply not understanding that most of the people reading have nothing to do with Dems and the Left.

Can't they give it a rest and simply discuss the conflict? It's a terrible affliction. An obsession.

That small town where all this started is the last of such before entering a certain Hindu pilgrimage route, and the trip unfortunately coincides with the monsoon season, which begins next month or so.  I would think Modi would be motivated for a cease-fire, at least until September.
