That was a Russian claim. Nato  denied giving such commitment. The absence of any written agreement support Nato's claim.

Gorbachev who was in the 1990 negotiation has stated that there Nato expansion was not discussed. If the agreement was not codified, nothing is formal. Think you better check your eye prescription. It is failing you.

I guess the " I will end the war in 24 Hours" comment from Trump along with other posts about to end the war in Ukraine he needed to meet with Putin and so much more BS that now the reality that he has been played by Putin just hit him, what everybody knew and he kept denying was that Putin had no interest whatsoever about ending the war, reality just hit Trump

 

In public, the US president has repeatedly claimed he believes Putin wants peace.
