Huge crowd piles pressure on Dutch government to seek an end to Israel's campaign in Gaza

Tens of thousands of red-clad protesters marched through the Dutch capital on Sunday to demand their government do more to halt Israel’s campaign in Gaza, in what organizers called the country’s biggest demonstration in two decades.

Human rights groups and aid agencies — including Amnesty International, Save the Children and Doctors Without Borders — estimated the peaceful crowd at more than 100,000 people, and the streets of The Hague were packed with the old, young and even some babies on their first protest.

The march took the young family past the Peace Palace, headquarters of the United Nations’ International Court of Justice, where last year judges ordered Israel to do all it can to prevent death, destruction and any acts of genocide in Gaza.

Imagine a bunch of terrorists next door crossing the border and killing 1200 of your citizens.

Then 1000's of Israelis marching through Tel Aviv telling the Israeli Government to stop your Country from warring with those terrorists who invaded your Country

Why do they only march in the summer time when the weathers nice ?

Is it a bit cold for them  to campaign against genocide in the winter ?

MADRID (Reuters) -Spanish Prime Minister Pedro Sanchez called on Monday for Israel's exclusion from international cultural events such as the Eurovision song contest over its military campaign in Gaza, just as Russia was barred after its invasion of Ukraine.

"We cannot allow double standards, not even in culture," Sanchez, a Socialist and long-time critic of Israeli policies in occupied Palestinian territory, told a conference in Madrid.

"I believe that no one was shocked three years ago when Russia was asked to withdraw from international competitions after it invaded Ukraine and not participate, for example, at Eurovision. Therefore, Israel should not do so either," he said.

Sir Keir Starmer has condemned Benjamin Netanyahu’s “egregious” actions in Gaza, warning that the UK and allies will take “concrete actions” unless he changes course.

The Prime Minister, along with French President Emmanuel Macron and Canadian premier Mark Carney called for a halt to Israel’s military offensive and an end to restrictions on humanitarian aid.

In a joint statement, Sir Keir, Mr Macron and Mr Carney said: “We strongly oppose the expansion of Israel’s military operations in Gaza. The level of human suffering in Gaza is intolerable.

EU Council President António Costa demanded that Israel halt its military operations, while also calling on Hamas to release all remaining hostages immediately. He emphasized that only a two-state solution could bring lasting peace to the region.

Echoing Costa's remarks, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen reaffirmed the bloc's position: "We are convinced that the only solution is the two-state solution." She also stressed that humanitarian aid for civilians must never be politicized.

Instead of just marching and virtue signalling, why dont they do something more useful? They can go to Gaza, live amongst the people, and volunteer their time/skills to help rebuild the territory. Or they can each volunteer to sponsor a Gazan in their homes.

But no.   Bitching at the government to "do something" is a lot easier and less personally costly.

Israel doesn't allow any foreigners except doctors or nurses to enter Gaza.

   This is getting serious .

If Israel gets banned from the Eurovision song contest , I can see Netanyahu surrendering and going back to Poland to live

"Wilders criticized the protesters at the start of the demonstration, calling them confused on X. “Today, a demonstration against Israel + for Hamas. Thousands of confused people are drawing a red line. I am also drawing a red line. Against terror and the starvation of their own population by Hamas, and for maximum destruction of their murderous infrastructure. And for Israel,” Wilders, an avid supporter of Benjamin Netanyahu’s regime, said on X."

How about Egypt?

The Rafah crossing between Gaza and Egypt may be closed or have highly restricted access for long periods and is subject to change at short notice. It has been closed for a significant period due to the Gaza conflict and can be subjected to attacks, including air strikes

Good for the Dutch people. At least they care.

Now the rest of the peoples in the world need to do the same.

Quite ironic that the actual Gazans are protesting against Hamas though don't you think? While the pro Hamas crowds in the West remain quiet about who's really protesting there.

The largest anti-Hamas protest ever took place today in Gaza.

Hundreds of thousands marched and blamed Hamas for the war.

“We want to live. Hamas OUT!”
