A Thai man named Arnon has surrendered to police following the fatal shooting of his employee, Palathip, amid allegations of an affair with Arnon's wife. The incident was reported to the Bang Bua Thong Police Station at around 9 PM on May 19 by a petrol station worker in Nonthaburi, who heard six gunshots and saw Arnon flee the scene in a pickup truck.

The victim, 33-year-old Palathip, was found dead in a parked pickup, with three gunshot wounds to his chest and three to his right arm. His mobile phone and cash remained untouched, while a .22 calibre King Cobra pistol was discovered in the vehicle.

CCTV footage from a nearby residence identified the gunman as 40-year-old Arnon, who was seen smoking at the scene for several minutes post-shooting. According to a colleague of the victim, a 44-year-old technician named Jazz, both he and Palathip were employed by Arnon, who operated a butcher shop and frequently hired them for repairs and renovations.

Jazz claims the motive for the shooting stemmed from a suspected affair between Palathip and Arnon's wife, Name. Previously, the two men were involved in a physical altercation over the relationship, and Arnon had warned Palathip to cease the affair or face deadly consequences. Despite this warning, the affair reportedly continued, leading to the confrontation.

Arnon turned himself in at 1 AM, explaining to police that he and his wife, who have two children, had not divorced despite her request following her involvement with Palathip. Arnon said he became enraged upon seeing Palathip visiting his wife, which resulted in the shooting.

Currently, Arnon has not been granted temporary release, and formal charges are pending. He is likely to face charges under Section 288 of the Criminal Code for intentional murder, with potential penalties of 15 to 20 years imprisonment, life imprisonment, or the death penalty. Authorities have not confirmed if Palathip was carrying the gun for self-defense or intended confrontation.

The case underscores the dire consequences of personal disputes escalating to violence and the legal proceedings continue as the community grapples with the incident's aftermath.
