I just spent 45 days in Thailand, I have been out about 10 days.  I want to return for a few days again by crossing the land border again.   I worry this will use up my 2nd border entry but it seems I remember reading this isn’t enforced anymore so I want to confirm.    I am living in neighboring country and have a one year visa for that country so not doing visa runs out of Thailand. The  border would be PoiPet

thank you for any updates .

The limit was removed last year so that wont be an issue.  In theory you ought to have no issues but it seems Poi Pet is not the best place to enter, but as a non border bouncer you might/should be fine.

Ok thank you.   Not much choice on the border if I want to travel to Bangkok unfortunately….  Flying might be better  but frankly  tickets are over priced and I am more than an hour from an airport.

I think you;ll be fine, there is somebody else posting on here living in Cambodia who seems to have no problems.  Good luck!

No issue. You won't have an issue.

Just be prepared with Thai immigration if they ask something ridiculous such as accommodation etc have a prepared reply.

Note that your past time in Thailand. before the recent 45 days, comes into the equation.  The tourist-entries / time in prior years, if you previously had an ED or Volunteer visa, or a Covid extension, etc.

Yes, there is a better option - Poipet being the absolute worst entry point to Thailand, and Bangkok airports' immigration the 2nd worst option.  You can take a bus to Battambang, then take a mini-van or taxi (shared or private) to Ban Laem, and enter Thailand from there.

I didn't know the two entry thing had gone, terrific! Does that mean you can do back to back tourist entries????

If you use a border bounce service, yes. Otherwise, there are no guarantees, different IOs have different ideas as to how much time somewhat should be allowed to spend in Thailand as a tourist...

The two entries were for visa exempt, nothing to do with tourist visa entries. You could always do back to back tourist visa entries they were never limited.

However certain borders have a different protocol for visa exempt, an example is Nong Kai where you must spend one or two days in Laos before you can return. I don’t know the rules for other borders and most restrictions can be avoided by use of the brown envelope with pretty pieces of paper in it.

i prefer when was the limit of 2 entry per land and easy process ,than now IO make it so complicated for people right now at certain border

At least there's a solution to that problem - just go to a border where they like to make a buck.

While a Tourist Visa was less-likely to result in rejected-entry than Visa-Exempt, people have been denied-entry on Tourist-Visas, including METV entries - unless using agent-assisted service (agent-van for land-borders or "guaranteed entry" service by air).
