I've largely not experienced the recent Indian tourists since I live in the north and outside any tourist areas but I'm seeing patterns reading comments on social media and YouTube, especially Thailand rated content but just general politics across in English speaking countries. People seem universally not happy about this is the least you can say.

I visited Krabi for the first time last year (Ao Nang) and this was the first time I saw the big numbers of Indians. Nothing bad happened but it was overwhelming. I tried them out once but I'm never going back to any of the popular islands down south for all sorts of reason, Indians being just one of them.

Here is one such example. Just read the comments. Indians are largely incompatible with Europeans and will displace existing tourists when they come in large numbers. I've known Thai's personally to be repulsed by Indians in particular so they must be none so pleased too as well. How they're being received by the millions in Western countries is whole other topic but largely follows the same theme.

Not sure how Thailand will cope with this but it's going to be interesting. I'm sure people living in the areas they visit like Pattaya or Phuket will have similar things to say.

i've known good indians, bad indians... good thais, bad thais... bad brits (...) it just depends who you meet. But seeing all these guys squatting on a beach does nothing to help the general opinion of them...

It may not even be about being bad tourists but just offensive by their mere presence. Thais or Europeans don't visit India and would never retire there. Why is that? Indians want to live in our countries but we avoid their country.

Not 100% sure, but someone told me Indians are not allowed in some (or most/all) of the bars/gogos on Walking Street in Pattaya for the reason you mentioned. They would drive other customers out.

Some people are just racist and jump on the bandwagon, I don't have a problem with Indians except their poor walking etiquette in Pattaya

Remember this story? Read the comments. Mostly just spewing hatred against Indians. I see this all over social media with regularity.

I am not surprised what they or russians do here considering where they come from is alot worse. Maybe they are behaving better here than where they are from

The wife doesn’t like Indians because she says “dirty people smell bad not clean” nor does she like Chinese Burmese and Cambodians among others a real bigot as with most Thais and personally not bothered by it because it’s really none of my business. Anyway folks, sitting up on your self absorbed pedestal, how do you feel about hanging out with your bigoted spouse?

Just visited Pattaya and I was surprised at the large number which I hadn't noticed last year. Even more surprised by the number of Indian restaurants, sometimes two or three right next to each other. Didn't seem busy either

What part of Thailand is she from? Seems pretty extreme.

The Burmese/Thai Yai young men up north are pretty dodgy compared to Thai people. Not a huge fan honestly. Cambodians seem on the level though, at least when I was in Cambodia but never met them in Thailand.

I had rarely visited Soi 6 when living in Pattya, but when I did, the shear numbers of Indians there was a big turn off. Why you might ask?

Looking at the large number of Indian punters I'd ask myself. Do you really want to go where that guy has been?  Simple answer: hell no.

Especially when hanging out in a bar or two with Indian men they always makes you aware that their attitude toward hygiene (daily showering and regularly washing clothes etc) is very bad. They most always reek. Makes you wonder just how much they think about STD's etc.

I don't have anything against Indian people, but when it comes to messing around with women that they've been with (and most of you punters too) I don't want em'

Steer clear. Makes me nauseous thinking about all the crumby punters these girls have been with.

All very rational points. They could kill many tourist areas in Thailand. Unless they replace the lost revenue from displacing other tourists Thailand is in trouble, or they need new tourist destinations so people can spread out more.

North Lampang. Not extreme, it’s the norm here as with just about every Thai I’ve known. How long have you been here anyway? Or do you not get out much and converse with the locals? That’s also a normal thing here with farangs, I know guys here only communicate with one Thai, their spouse.

I've in Chiang Mai for many years. I talk too much even but I don't ask people which groups they dislike, I only know that from overhearing them. I know people don't like Chinese, Indians, Hill tribes  and Burmese, which is all the major groups  here.

My experience is that when getting to know people they volunteer their opinions, asking isn’t necessary.

No you're right I have heard people say they don't like some groups but the topic needs to come up. I had my landlord and this other complain guy complain about the Hmong's driving before but I started that one up myself. I've tried to get my wife to go some markets which apparently Burmese and she was repulsed by the idea. Other random examples like that but I only get to talk to so many people so not sure how widespread it is.

My wife said this once. It's apparently a thing people say. Cleaver line and it rhymes.

No 'good brits' in your world then? Probably an embittered dodgy froggy to get that dig in.

Any group in massive numbers is not a good thing for any place. Regards India or China, they should probably pile into one another's back yard en masse, see how they like it.

not all groups are the same. Again look at which countries Thai people move to and live in. It's revealed preference, that tells you who they prefer.

My only personal experience with an Indian was living on a cruise ship as a sound technician, sharing a room with one. He was the nastiest, filthiest human I've ever been that close to. He would blow his nose on the shower curtain, and I walked in on him beating his meat once - didn't phase him a bit, just kept on stroking. I talked to the supervisor who understood and got me assigned to a different room. I know you can't judge an entire race on one experience, but it certainly seems to fit their general description.

Oh very beautiful

May I ask the size ?

Oh please ,there's no need for racism , we should encourage diversity and harmony and experience the cultural aspects of different nationalities such as food , etc

Let me see if I get this straight; you're advocating for sending African-Americans "home" because some white people (like you) don't want to live among them, yet you yourself have moved to Thailand where you live among Thai people, some of whom surely want you to go home, and then you have the gall to start complaining about other tourists coming to Thailand???:cheesy:

You don't do self awareness or hypocrisy, do you.

Oh theres no need for transphobia
