What I don't understand is why TAT claims tourism revenue is up. The major groups are now Chinese, Malaysians, Indians and Russians. How is that translating to higher spending per tourist?

Opening up visa free to Indians was a long term error that may rank up there as one of the most errornous decisions in the history of Thailand. That one stroke will change the dynamic and look of Thailand for years.

India's GDP per person is infinate lower than Thailands too.

On a side issue i have never seen hornier men than indians. Absolutely can't believe it,

Not hornier, just no shame about it like us

Pattaya has now become India.

Not even Pattaya. Look at Canada. They totally displaced the Canadians. Same thing is happening in Thailand too.

The resentment comes from the sheer volume of numbers.

Tourism spend is actually down, despite last years massive number of arrivals (almost record breaking). One or two credit card companies have said spend was up, but that doesn't give an overall figure. Spending with inflation will always look rosier.

Thailand also used to gain 2000 Baht from issuing visas to Indians. They removed that. Try working out 2 million times 2000 baht. That's a big hole to fill.

The issue if you allow in so many cheap tourists, whilst you may think it looks good, you then see the knock on effects - with many looking to work, over stay, but crucially you cannot get past the low spend and behaviour. You are changing the landscape.

Malaysia recently reversed it's own visa policy for Indians, taking a more strict approach after many over stayed and began to work.

Zero shame. You can clearly hear them bargaining too .... 6 guys pressuring one lady to give them a discount. Total 3000 for 6 guys (thats the final price to include everyone). It's sleazy and disgraceful. The prostitute in general will agree as it's money, and she may not get any more transactions that day. Imagine being the 6th guy though, or the guy that picks her up after she returns to the streets after being with them. Christ.

Theres guys here who only do prostitutes, which is better than manipulating girls looking for relationships, but the ones in pattaya are obviously gross for the reasons you stated

Over on the pattaya addict forums many are suggesting the new wave of STD's women are catching are coming from India.

I am aware there has been investment in Pattaya from indian business men to cater for Indians, but they've basically taken over a city. And if you continue to just let them enter without restrictions it won't stop at Pattaya.

I was on the beach side of beach road and heard three guys from India neogiating with a Thai woman of the night.   Who wants to share a woman and get sloppy thirds?

My first year in Thailand I was talking to my uncles Thai wife and she told me a phrase they have because I was interested in learning Thai. It was "between a snake and an Indian who do you hit first?" and the answer was the Indian. Anyone here that one before? She was from Nakon Phanom in Isaan.

It wasn't Indian though it was the Thai word they use for Indians and Arabs, kind of like Farang for us.

The spices especially curry that is excreted through skin pores and sweat plus poor hygiene gives rise to their distinct body odor. How about wearing the fake clothing they buy from markets for many days. 🤮🤮🤮

Visited soi4 a couple of times this year for beers, both times seeing several different groups of Indian guys trying to hire a single girl. Thankfully even the brasses didn't wish to lower themselves to that to earn a crust. Never used to see these guys there in the past - grim.

what's with Indian groups of men? I see them hanging on each other and holding hands even. Now they're all going for same girl? very strange behavior.

A lot of these guys will get married off via arranged marriage by their late 20s so are having their fun before that in most cases.

As for the group mentality - sharing and frugality does seem to be a feature of Indian culture, hence the various stories about the coke with 5 straws in it, cliched or otherwise 😄 Obviously extends to saving money for bedroom activities too.

In the past, most bars around NEP and the area didn't allow Indians in but that has definitely changed it seems.

As for the various groups of guys I saw, they were out on the street pestering the girls standing around looking to pick up a punter. I didn't see any go off with them tho!

Not 100% sure, but someone told me Indians are not allowed in some (or most/all) of the bars/gogos on Walking Street in Pattaya for the reason you mentioned. They would drive other customers out.

Many places refuse entry to Indians.

They often tell them it's members only or ask for a entry fee, I've heard 5000 baht mentioned at 1 establishment.

Many of them seem to think that they can enter free and then sit inside just looking at the girls without buying anything. Hence why security stop them at the door.

In the past I've seen 4 Indians sharing 2 small bottles of beer together, this doesn't go down well with the business owners.

That is why their is a policy of no entry.

However, I have to add that some Indian's are extremely wealthy and do spend a lot of money which is why there are several Indian owned clubs towards the Bali Hai pier end of Walking Street, catering for such.

Look like Calforinia.

As much as you would like to push the narrative, homelessness is not at all confined to California, though these pictures were taken there.

Being in california gives you a vastly distorted view of the US. Take a drive to nevada to get a somewhat more realistic perspective

I'm from Colorado. Same <deleted>. People just blame those CA transplants, which is partly true but it's much deeper than that.

Anywhere you find these same weak people they aren't willing to set standards for society and get overwhelmed by poverty and crime. Serves them right honestly but everyone else gets caught in the crossfire and goddamn it's tiring trying to explain how to the world works.

Holding hands, hanging on each other is just the way good friends do in India, was there for 2 years, one friend from Kashmir tried to hold my hand when we were walking, I told him no chance, what if someone sees me from my home town! 🙂

Same in Zurich too, if you go to the park there it's all Africans. You'd think you're in Nigeria.

I do agree I've been in California off and on long enough to know that it's a state in dramatic decline, but it's also a magnificent state and Wine Country alone makes up for a lot of the nonsense.

CA has 187,000 homless people.  What a mess.   If I take a political angle on this issue, the numbers exploded under Joe Biden.

Spent a lot of time in India although mostly up north. Yeah, not clean people.

Like Chinese there's 1B+ most of that is going to be dodgy characters. ..the educated, upper classes are ok. I quite like Jain people, super clean. Cleaner than the typical single farang I see about town I'm guessing

Was down on soi 4 the other day drinking. Early evening ...the Indians were out and about. Most were better dressed than 90% of white guys. Fk you guys dress like shiiit
