Try applying the rule of thirds to the position of boats when framing shots like these. You generally want to avoid having your main subject placed right in the center of the frame.

I think he is spot on with his pics balancing the frame with the background, and not only focusing on one single object in the frame.

Finally I get the chance to post in Hummins travel thread. IMHO one of the better threads here on this forum. A bit of a story and some photos I hope you like. 47 years ago I arrived at Chaweng Beach

I read all the major islands experience cancellations on a bigger scale than ever before because of the tensions with Cambodia. Koh Kood 80% or so cancellations.

Took a little walk up a hill today. ~330m elevation gain @~1.5km & a staircase of 1749 steps.

Interesting. I think the some of the hotels were worried the Cambodian staff would have to go home too.

I do not think Phuket is on to border to Cambodia, which I should had included.

The article states Koh Chang, Koh Mak and Koh Kood.

Koh Kood be one of the Islands Cambodia want back.

So many beautiful photos, it's like being in a gallery. Keep it up!

One good thing about non touristy area of Phuket (Thalang), big bungalow with separate bedroom w/twin bed (if needing for kids), besides main areas, and only 800 THB.  Cheapest and nicest, sort of, so far this week.

For a change a few holidays from holidays. Pool before 10 AM in Pattaya. Not many places where you get that for 900 Baht/25 Euro a day?

Sun burns from clear sky.

Last time we hit Pattaya and Jomtien there was hard to find a place to relax in the shadow at the hotels around the pool, and had to dump a few towels every day when we wanted to relax. However not only Pattaya or Jomtien, it is everywhere now.
