Greta Thunberg’s Gaza Aid Voyage Sparks Controversy After Senator’s Mocking Remark

According to a press release by the Freedom Flotilla Coalition,  "The ship is carrying urgently needed supplies for the people of Gaza, including baby formula, flour, rice, diapers, women’s sanitary products, water desalination kits, medical supplies, crutches, and children’s prosthetics."

 

But the Madleen isn't a very large ship and couldn't hold much.  According to the Sky News video, it contained less than a truckload of supplies.

 

There's not much cargo space on a recreational yacht.   The real goal of the "aid ship" was publicity, not the delivery of supplies.  The mission attracted a lot of attention, but much of it was ridicule.  If Greta Thunberg had any credibility, it's all gone now.

Tossing cell phones into the sea doesn't seem a very environmentally conscious thing to do.  I'm surprised Greta didn't object and urge them to recycle the phones.  But I guess she also didn't want numerous calls to Hamas to show up on the phones.
