IIRC he is talking about his daughter, not the wife.

Incorrect, it's with reference to his wife. The daughter reference may have come from her statement that he is the best dad that she ever had.

So a girl helped you run your business without any expectations in return?

That's probably because you got "game / Mojo"

Guys like BritMan don't got much "game / Mojo", so they need to pay.

Not just one girl, but every girl in that period. Dull and repetitive work to an extent, but done willingly, without complaint.

This is why I cannot understand these guys who pay to have a pretty girl on their arm, instead of cultivating sustainable relationships.

Girls often believe that men are like dogs. They don't respect that kind of man. But some will take the candy.

Be someone a person can respect. Not some sleazy dog wanting to get his leg over regardless.

She has a sticky rice farm in Lomsak and half a mountain in Nan.

Seen both places once, and never felt the urge to return to those rural hell-holes.

Nan a hell-hole?

Now I'm wondering who the stupid one in the relationship is......maybe both!

And it seems you can't fix cruel.

She's your wife and the woman who you reported looked after you so well when you were hit by that car.

If you're not aware, nearly anyone in a relationship would be very hurt to know this was written about them by the one person in the world who should have their back.

Public flaming of the ones closest to you. It's Trump Musk behaviour.

There always seems to be one turd in the punch bowl.

Be kind. BM2 is a great poster. Constructive criticism is one thing. How does a nasty dig help the world?

Oh boy. Maybe someone can write it down in crayon for you to better understand.

BritMan regularly says his wife has no say regarding money. And he actually calls her stupid in the OP, even if the tone is somewhat humourous, it is telling.

It seems quite a few farangs behave this way with their Thai spouses, treating them as inferiors, giving them pocket money and scolding them like children if they aren't happy with what they do with it. So it's no surprise said spouses should retaliate when they feel they are in a position to.

We don't really know their dynamic. It seems more likely to me, that now that she has extracted as much as possible from him, he's already 70 plus and the kids are grown up, she feels she does not need to share with him anymore.

Sorry if this sounds out of line, but it can’t have been a great feeling when she asked you to write and sign that, especially after all you’ve done for her, sending her to school and uni?

Briffault was right, it's how women are and I accept that.

Apparently really stupid ones also, at least according to you. You do realize, to anyone really reading, it's evident you are proud to have married a stupid women?

I don't know about anyone else but the last person I want as a life partner is someone stupid. Although a lot of the punters on this forum are the type that are perfectly content to hear themselves talk and don't mind if the person they are speaking to doesn't understand a bit of what they are saying.

I prefer to sit quietly, neither talking, nor being talked to.

So my wife thinks she's coming into a few million Baht (almost no chance).

And wanted me to sign a document stating any money she gets is hers, and I have no claim on it.

I say, "sure, no problem", and she brings over a notepad for me to write out the agreement.

I write "any money you get and half belongs to me" she tells me to sign and date it to make it official.

She asks me to read out what I wrote, and I read out "any money you get belongs entirely to you"

She walks off happily clutching the document to keep somewhere safe .........

You can't fix stupid!

That means she could now take something that belongs entirely to you, sell it and legally get half the proceeds. Clever lady.

I don't own anything of any value in Thailand.

My most expensive possession (excluding her) is my electric MTB @34kbht, and if she wants it she can have it.  Never saw any reason to spend big money while in a country I have no right to live.

My wife was self supporting before she met me, computer graphic design.  With excellent investment skills.  Along with, she could literally build a house herself with a crew.  She's that good, as her Greenhouse shows.  She re-plumbed this house, under the floor, as you wouldn't believe the crap job the builder did.   Luckily their only building failure.

I ain't got a plumbing degree... but I have the experience of many house builds here in Thailand.  The plumber you show was putting in something of a "P" trap .... which will hold water and prevent gas/smells and insects from going up to the drain ( shower or sink usually .      Yes, bathroom sinks have a SS one already )

Since there is crawl space to work with at yours, i would have used the one shown. (  I use with my kitchen sink as it is good for a lifetime) .  Sold in different diameters at building supplies.     I am not a fanatical photo taker... but i keep this one to show a builder what I want .   20201020_113902.jpg.e5db77612624036cbe536b7c2b20198e.jpg

Imagine you pay for a woman for 20 years, put her children through school, give her a roof over her head, feed her...and then she tells you she wants you to sign something to make sure you don't get  any money from her sale.of land.

I have to say I would be a little disappointed in her.

Thai family law doesn't come into it. Two adults negotiate the terms of their relationship without reference to the state or family law.

That's called being a wife.

I was out with my girl last night. We was chilling at the bar when some a hole walked by and slapped her fine booty.

She turned to me and said...well aren't you going to do something about that. You're supposed to protect me.

I turned to her and softly said. Not tonight hunny I have a headache.

You expect gratitude, something most women don't have in them.

I don't expect gratitude. But I would expect that she views us as a team, that she does what's good for the relationship. Doing what she did with this paper, this indicates that she thinks mostly about herself, and that the team aspect is not on her mind. That she doesn't value the relationship.

She must have known, or thought, that you wouldn't like it.

Denial of what? I have intelligent and successful friends and acquaintances here. Perhaps the people with whom you mix lack some important qualities.

If you insult my friends, expect some pushback. If you are only meeting unintelligent people, then remember the saying "birds of a feather, flock together". No need for you to deny.

You'll be lucky to get another 18 years out of your current 'model'. I think you'll find @BritManToo somewhat more pragmatic than yourself, even though you are both taken to using some artistic licence. You'll learn....eventually.

He's has no problems admitting that he paid for what he wanted. You are still fantasising, trying to convince us that you are the hot property.
