A 35-year-old man was shot dead in front of his home in what police suspect was a premeditated killing, after he was called out to speak with the gunman late evening in Surat Thani province.

Police Lieutenant Colonel Anirut Polrak, deputy investigating officer of Khiri Rat Nikhom Police Station, received reports of the shooting at around 21:00, on 8 June. He responded to the scene with Superintendent Colonel Narong Rakprathum, forensic investigators, and local rescue personnel.

The fatal shooting occurred in Moo 8, Tham Singkhon Subdistrict, Khiri Rat Nikhom District. Officers arriving at the scene found the victim, identified as Mr. Natthaphong, lying on his back in front of his home. The victim had sustained a fatal gunshot wound to the forehead and authorities confirmed he died at the scene.

According to the victim’s wife, a white Toyota sedan had pulled up outside their home shortly before the shooting. The driver exited the vehicle and called her husband to come outside for a brief conversation. Moments later, without warning, the man pulled out a gun and fired three shots at point-blank range before fleeing the scene in the same vehicle. The number plate could not be identified.

Police have launched a full investigation to determine the motive behind the murder. Officers are gathering evidence, reviewing nearby CCTV footage and questioning potential witnesses in an effort to trace the gunman.

Authorities have vowed to track down the perpetrator and bring him to justice.
