Due to the fact that I was staying in europe on that date, my driving licence expired on May 27 (5 years).
If I understand correctly when I go for renewal now it would be almost for the duration of 6 years.
But what I am wondering, do you have to get a certificate regarding your health somewhere first, and do I also have to visit immigration for fixing my residential address?
Thank you in advance for your provided information.

Health certificate is always necessary. Local street side clinic. 100 to 200 Baht.

A new proof of residence also assuming you have no other means (yellow house book or the like).

Also depends on the individual office what they accept. Where do you go?

You are on a long-term visa/stay (Non O?).

Yes almost 6 years until your birthday on May 27.

Also recommended or mandatory for foreigners:

Online "training" at home. Watching some videos and answering simple questions.

Results in a QR code.

(I don't have the details at hand now).

Many threads about it in the motor forum.

Yes, I have a long-term visa Non O, retirement but not a yellow house book, even though I have paid for the land and property, this is obviously in my girlfriend's name so there is only a blue book, tambien baan.

So sure you need a proof of residence (res.cert.).

Worst case:

read that it can be complicated: DLT will give you a request letter.

With that and only with that immigration will issue free of cost.

Some unlucky guys have to wait weeks for it.

Maybe an "express fee" might help.

But really worst case depending on office.

As pointed out.. You require a COR.

As for medical there are small shops set up as "medical clinic" near most transport offices.

Indicate where you plan to renew your license for best advice.

How long has it been expired.

Up to one year expiry no issue.

The OP was not in Thailand when TDL expired.

He is asking about renewal.

Pointing out that TDL can be renewed up to 12 months after expiry.

Is this true? Whenever I have needed one (including for a recent DL renewal) you just download the COR application form from here and check "for driving license" and then circle whether it is a motorbike or car and then go to immigration with your TM30 (and TM47 if you have one). https://bangkok.immigration.go.th/en/downloads_en/

You don't need anything from the DLT beforehand. It's never taken more than a week to receive and costs 200 baht.

This is all for CW. Maybe some weird office elsewhere does require a request from the DLT first but I can't imagine why.

And to the OP: book an appointment at immigration first if you are using CW. It cuts your hanging around time from potentially several hours to just a few minutes.

Been reported in another threads/other offices.

I am not affected.

Yellow house book accepted here.

Why?

Maybe because it's free and immigration does not like free services.
